Together, Janet and her Los Angeles based band, The Parlor Boys share spirited and inspired renditions of Tin Pan Alley, early hot jazz, vaudeville & ragtime and other early 20th Century rare gems performing at historic theaters in Hollywood and Los Angeles and other landmark venues and around the world.

Janet has produced 10 CDs with her group since 1998. Their CD release Living In Sin was voted in the Top Ten Jazz and Pop Critics Award Poll of the Village Voice.

The comparison is inevitable. How could it be otherwise? Tito Puente Jr. carries his father with him – imprinted on his physical being and locked in his soul. It’s in his looks, his joy, and his music.Tito, Jr. is on a passionate mission. The younger Puente is determined to nurture the musical legacy left by his father. He refuses to let his father become a distant memory. “He was just too vibrant, too exciting. There was magic in the music my father made. It made people happy all over the world.”

He has found captive audiences who echo his passion. Crowds lured to a venue by the father are returning to see the son — and to once again participate in the high voltage celebration that takes place on stage.

Tito Puente, Jr. has become an audience favorite in casinos, performing arts centers, symphony halls and jazz festivals worldwide, performing more than 300 shows over the past 5 years.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Joan Rivers candidly told CYBILL SHEPHERD that she was “Queen of the F’ng Lucky Club,” something she embraced wholeheartedly. She was 16 when she won the Miss Teenage Memphis pageant. After graduating high school, she followed up on a model agency invitation to New York and was named winner of the Model of The Year pageant. As a result, Her career soared. It was one look at Cybill on a Glamour magazine cover by Peter Bogdanovich that landed the 21-year-old her breakthrough movie role in The Last Picture Show. This glance catapulted her acting career and led her to be cast in The Heartbreak Kid and Taxi Driver. She went on to receive four Golden Globes and multiple Emmy nominations.
While most have known Cybill from TV and film, she says “I was a singer first.” At age nine, she was invited to join Holy Communion Episcopal Church choir in Memphis and was training with a vocal coach by sixteen. During her high school years, she started a folk group, Cybill and Friends, that surprisingly generated income. Cybill leaned into her Memphis roots, creating a diverse & extensive repertoire including jazz standards, blues, and pop. The live on-screen musical comedy At Long Last Love and the notable TV roles in The Cybill Show and Moonlighting with Bruce Willis gave her the opportunity to exhibit her live musical talent.
