I’m still physically recovering from yesterday’s styled shoot but gosh it felt good to get out from behind the computer screen and stretch my creative legs!
The off season can be a long stretch of vendor emails, quotes, proposals, budgets and spreadsheets. Not that I don’t find joy in the organizational, back end of planning but my heart lies in the design, creativity and connection that weddings bring.
Styled shoots are a great tool for wedding pros, why you may ask?!?
✨ It allows a safe creative space to collaborate with new vendors
✨ On a normal wedding day, there’s no time for casual convos, so it also acts as a networking event that gives vendors actual time to talk beyond “how’s your season going?”
✨ Keeps you and your skills sharp during the off season; reminds you the physical labor and legit sweat that goes into bringing that design deck to life
✨ It allows vendors a low risk space to take creative swings and try out new techniques; whether it’s the photographer trying a new camera or playing with lighting or a stationer working with new materials, there’s no “paying client” so stakes feel a little less severe.
