Well, hello!!
Just wanted to put a few things the building will be doing as fundraisers on your radar. 😉

First: We’re bringing back The Wesley Flyers…in shirt form, anyway. I’m hoping to have some options to show you as far as styles and colors go soon. Stay tuned!
Second: The Community Center will be doing a “Chuck A Duck” contest on the 4th at the ball field. Time tbd. 🐤🐤🐤

Community Center rental fees as of 01/01/2026.
Just like everything else, our costs for everything the building requires have also increased. We just can’t have the building losing money anymore.
On the bright side, if you’ve been inside lately, you’ve maybe noticed everything is much brighter with new paint, and we’ve replaced (thanks to donations) every table and chair in the building, and more changes are in the works.
I promise you, our fees are still the cheapest around.
If you’d like to reserve the building for your event, call or text Lany.

PROGRAM ALERT!!!
Come listen to Tyler Sullivan speak on Saturday, April 18th at 1:00pm at the Community Center; sponsored by the Library.

When you think of Iowa, what are things that come to mind? Did you know that Iowa has 99 counties, and 101 courthouses? Tyler Sullivan has been to 97 out of the 99 counties, and has been to 1,300 cities across the state. He also is running at least in a mile in all these communities, and to make it more memorable, he forms a poem for each of the counties he visits. In 2024 he traveled to over 150 museums across the state, and in 2025 he challenged himself to visit 250 museums and attractions across the state and saw an astonishing 366 attractions. Over 500 in the last two years alone. Come and listen to his adventures he has experienced across Iowa.

I forgot to thank my painting helpers yesterday!!
Thank you to Karen and Lara for your hard work yesterday. ❤️
The entire building is being freshened up room by room as time, money, opportunity, and inspiration presents itself. All volunteer hours. All there just because they want to help. It’s a big job.
Up next? Big changes coming to the American Legion and bar area.

The entire Community Center building is completely unavailable today. I have no events in my calendar for the day, so that shouldn’t be an issue.
{Both entities housed in the building have been notified, and a sign will be posted on the door.}
