The old farmhouse, Built in 1907, still had remnants of her former grander, originally the Martin farm, was used for generations (Martin and Perry family) as a tobacco and lumber produc
er. The farm has slowly began to wake up under a full blown restoration which will include the 1800 sq foot farm house, tobacco barns, smoke house and the very first "generator shed" in Wendell NC giving the farm electricity, Not to mention bringing the entire overgrown landscape back to life will a lot of hard work and many dusty days in the company of feathered and furry friends (horses, dwarf Nigerian goats, Jersey cow, piggies, bunnies, chickens and quail). All of the non savable buildings are being taken down for future reclaimed wood products and craftsmanship. The farm will be an organic producer of many speciality items including muscadine grapes, apples, blueberries, raspberries and hydroponic greens (and more) including farm fresh free range chicken and quail eggs.
2023 fall is the proposed goal for Harvest Place Farm to be open to the public and will also be a place for events, seasonal items, equestrian, farm life experiences and classes. We are a live outloud family and everyday is QUITE an adventure we welcome you to follow!
