The countdown has started. Tonight is one of the last 3 weddings I’ll be doing this year. We’re celebrating Brittany Hull and Jacques DuBois at The Broussard Event Center, formerly the Madison. Brittany is the sister of Allison Meche, which I did Allison’s almost exactly two years ago at Oak Crossing. Tonight is gonna be a party to remember. Let’s do this!

It’s with great disappointment that I have to announce I will no longer be DJing in a full time capacity after June of this year. As of February 2nd, I purchased the company I work for, T-Shirt Wearhouse. Some thought I might be able to do both, but unfortunately I cannot give the attention to the events that I have and my clients have come accustomed to.
The past 7 years have been amazing. I’ve met and partied with some of the best people in Lake Charles. You know who you are! When I originally started, it was just to make some extra money for my family and to pay off some bills sooner. A few years later, it all became a viable business. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the connections I’ve made with several of the vendors around town and abroad. I always looked forward to the events knowing we were going to be working together and knowing the events were going to go smoothly. Please know I learned something from each and everyone one of you. I believe, it was because of our meetings, you provided me with a lot of the knowledge I’m using daily now, in my new business.
I’m looking forward to my new future, but please know, music will always be a part of my life. Don’t be surprised if I have some type of music decor at T-Shirt Wearhouse, Inc.

All the best,
Damon

This past weekend was the last event of the year I had to DJ for. With that, I would like to take this moment to thank everyone for entrusting me to help you celebrate some of the most important moments in your life. This year, has been the best year I've had DJing. I did 53 events this year and I wouldn't have been able to do it without the recommendations from all of my past clients, the amazing vendors I get to work with every month and other DJs in the area that reach out when they're booked (you know who you are). My main goal when I started was to be a reliable/dependable DJ that clients, vendors and other DJs could rely on. My second goal was to provide an unforgettable experience for wedding couples in particular, but also for school dances and private parties. No matter what some people may think, being a great DJ isn't just about pressing PLAY. It's about showing up and generally caring about the people you're working for and working with.
The pictures I'm sharing show the difference in my setup from 8 years ago at my class reunion, to a wedding I did a couple of months ago. I'm so happy with the relationships I've made with several of you and look forward to new relationships to be made. Here's to another great year.

I have to take a moment to BRAG on this wonderful, sweet woman, Noelie Puckett.
I got a call at 10am Saturday morning, from the bride, saying the photographer she had lined up for her wedding wasn't answering her calls from the night before and she wasn't replying to her text, even though, she could see her text were being read. She was afraid she wasn't going to show up. Of course, the bride was in panic mode, so she reached out to me to see if I knew of anyone that might be available. I told her I would reach out to who I knew and see. I reached out to Karen Michelle Photography immediately. She said she couldn't do it herself because she was at a family function, but she would post my message in the photography group she was a member of. Within 30 minutes, Karen had me a few options to choose from. I took a few minutes to look at each of their pages and Noelie's was the best. She showed a full range of photos from indoor to outdoor and great poses of her subjects. I got her number and made the call, on behalf of the bride, to see what her rates were and to provide her with all the details for the day. I have to say, she was very professional during our entire conversation. Her vibe was equal to the brides, so I almost knew it was going to be a great match. And most importantly, her rate fit within the bride's budget. I told her to give the bride a call, so they arrange payment and I looked forward to seeing her at the wedding.
Fast forward to 4pm, the time the ceremony started. Noelie was on time, dressed appropriately and very easy to talk to. I introduced her to the family, so she would know who to capture in candid shots if need be. The ceremony started and she was on point the whole time. She seemed to float around the room, getting all the necessary shots, without disrupting any of the guests or their view.
After the ceremony, she took the couple out on the balcony for a few pictures. I could see her working with the couple through the window I had access to and I could tell she was very comfortable with what she was doing, which in turn made the couple very comfortable. Once they were done, I went and talked with the couple to see how things were going so far, and they said "Noelie is so sweet and we love the poses she's choosing." She was taking wonderful shots of them and they were so happy how things worked out."
After this, we moved to the reception, and once again, Noelie moved around the room effortlessly getting the shots she needed. I was able to see only a few shots she had taken during the night, but from what I had seen I knew I made the right decision to call her. And now, as you can see from these sneak peak pictures, she did a wonderful job. Now, I can't wait to see some of the others.
Once again, a huge THANK YOU to Noelie for stepping up and coming in clutch when it was needed. I definitely look forward to working with you again.

I had the honor to DJ for Delaney and Ty Hickingbottom this weekend. The weather was beautiful for an outdoor ceremony by the bayou. I also got to try out my new uplights. They looked amazing in action.

Although this is not my primary job, it's a side hustle that I've taken very seriously for the past 6 years. The most important lesson I've learned is "Be Prepared." I think any professional DJ will say this is what separates an amateur from a professional. Enjoy the read.

When it comes to creating an unforgettable event, the role of a DJ is crucial. But not all DJs are created equal. Professional DJs bring a unique blend of skills, experience, and equipment that elevate the atmosphere and keep the crowd engaged. Understanding what sets professional DJs apart from hob...

This video is from Anna Marie & Seth Boullion's wedding on July 12, 2025 at the wonderful Lake Charles Country Club. Thank you to my good friend, Kyle Mestayer, for doing this for them. This was his first time to do a video like this and wanted to experience what it would take to become a wedding content creator. Although he only had the opportunity to be at the reception, I think he did an awesome job! Contact Kyle or myself if you're interested in having this service at your wedding.

I DJed my first Glow Party last night and it was great. Thank you to Homeschool Dance for Missions for putting on these dances for the kids and for giving back to the community. I’m so glad to be a part of this. I tried something a little different last night and projected some kaleidoscope patterns on the wall behind me. I think it looked great. Let me know what you think.
