The rain stopped just in time for show time! Lilly and Tom did a great job. We love our guys. Now time to help man our booth at the rodeo. Thanks Corie for your help today! After the rodeo we'll tuck Tom and Lilly in for the night.
Our current weather situation. Hopefully it passes before show time

Can't get a better view for a job. We really enjoyed our time with the @townofsuperior for their event for #nationaltrailsday. Thank you to the town for having us out to celebrate a little something while the town is still trying to rebuild after last year's devastating fire.

Today was a busy day for us at DSRC. We used a BEMER Horse-Set North America blanket and cuffs on all of our drafts today. Thank you Ashley for taking the time to give our horses and a friend's draft some therapy. I believe they all really enjoyed it. Then we also welcome Dolly and Molly (new names possibly to come) to the family. These girls bring some much needed excitement after we lost the chance to possibly bring a Clydesdale team into our family. Everything happens for a reason they say and for these gals I believe we are the home they needed. They are both underweight and in dire need of farrier work. They are sweet small girls at about 15.2hh. I'm calling them pocket drafts. We'll keep everyone posted on their progress as they get to a healthier state.
Who else is ready for the Budweiser Super Bowl commercial this year?! We ARE!
Budweiser has this to share about their commercial, "This Super Bowl we have one message for America: In the home of the brave, down never means out."
This Super Bowl we have one message for America: In the home of the brave, down never means out. Directed by Chloé Zhao.
Who else lol? 🤣
Did you know Percherons are influenced by Arabian bloodlines? When the Vikings came, they brought horses from foreign lands, including Arabian stallions, and these foreign horses bred with native mares. The offspring developed into the Percheron horse breed.
Diamond SR Carriage currently owns 2 Percherons: Tom and Gamble and 1 Percheron cross: Cash!
The most popular breed of draft horses is the Belgian. The number of Belgians that are registered outnumber ALL the other draft horse breeds when their numbers are combined! Did you know Diamond SR's own Lilly is a Belgian?!
What is the most popular breed out of all the draft horses? Comment below with your guess. Answer to follow tomorrow.
Rides are in Downtown Fort Collins. Please email us at [email protected] for reservation times and/or more information.
We had a great day yesterday with so many amazing teams and the Colorado Draft Horse Association at the Big Thunder Draft Horse Show. We are very proud of Tom and Lilly. They handled everything so well and were quiet and poised the entire time. This year was very different for us than the last time we showed as Tom and Lilly are a newly paired team (not even close to a year yet)after us losing Ted this last year. They placed 6th in the Feed Team Race, placed 5th out of 10 in the Log Skid preliminaries, and 5th out of 8 in the Log Skid Finals, and 7th out of 7 in the working team class. We'll continue working with these two and see if we can make it to a few other shows over the summer.
We want to thank both the aforementioned organizations for your hospitality and hosting such a great show. We also want to thank our friends and family for the support and help, especially from my Dad, Corie, Tom, Lizz and Ryan who were boots on the ground from sun up to almost sun down.
We took 5th! We'll be back for the log skid finals during the performance and then the team class as well.
Feed team race. We took 6th. Not bad for Lilly's first show.
Feed team race.
Come join us for a good time at the Big Thunder Draft Horse Show. We'll be competing in the farm classes with Tom and Lilly. This will be Lilly's first show 🎀 and would love to have some support. We hope to see some Diamond SR supporters there ❤
To our clients that rebooked from our last cancellation for this evening: we must cancel this evenings rides as well. We were hoping the roads would have been more cleared off from the road crews and sun from this afternoon, but unfortunately while we were just down there checking road conditions we saw too many instances that are a safety concern for us, our horses and you and your family. We are sorry for the inconvenience again and have contacted you regarding how you would like to proceed with a refund or rebook again.
To our clients with reservations this evening: We must cancel due to possibility of wet, icy roads and high winds. It is a safety concern for our horses and clients alike. We apologize for any inconvenience and due to this being our decision we are more than willing to refund you your money or reschedule your ride at another time. Thank you for your understanding.
Today was teeth floating day and sheath cleanings for the Diamond SR Carriage crew. Thank you to Parsaye Veterinary Services for getting them in top shape. Gamble, we found out, is about 18 years old and will need more regular dental care than the others, as he's missing a couple molars. Everyone else checked out just fine with a few sharp points that needed filed down. All in all a little chilly, but good afternoon/evening.
Don't forget if you have missed the chance at booking a ride with us in Wellington or Fort Collins, feel free to come by the Town Of Severance's Town Christmas. We will be giving out free rides along with other things for the whole family with a FIREWORKS show to boot!
Celebrate the holidays with us THIS Saturday, December 11th for the Town Christmas. We will have Santa and Mrs. Claus, crafts, carols, FREE carriage rides, great food, hot cocoa, town tree lighting, fireworks, and more! All at Community Park.
On Saturday night we were joined by friends to go through the Wellington Parade of Lights. Thank you Ryan, Jolene and Miguel for bringing your kiddos out and joining us! We always enjoy doing the parade and Tom and Cash were stellar as always.
We had a good time at the VERY busy Holiday Lighting Festival at the Town of Timnath the other night. Thank you to the town for having us and our boys and girl out to give rides to your community. Thank you to our friend, Heather, and my Dad, Mike, for helping us out.
Looking for some fun for the whole family?! Join us and @Townoftimnath for a great evening of Holiday fun. We'll be doing free carriage rides and there will be many other free things for the family to do.
Feel free to stop and join a carriage ride with us this evening. I have bookings @6PM, 7PM, & 7:20PM, but have tons of other times to give rides this evening. Some nights and times have already been booked, so PM for availability and to book your reservation. There are always too many comments on threads to keep up with, so we will not respond or book from any comments.
We are still working on finalizing our Christmas ride dates and times for both Wellington and Downtown Fort Collins, but we are running in Downtown Fort Collins this Friday November 12th! We have 5 spots left to book for a 20-30 minute ride. We have 6PM, 7PM, 7:30PM, 8PM and 8:30PM spots left. Message us to schedule a time for this Friday!
We wanted to get people to start thinking about pre-booking your Christmas Carriage rides. We are currently working out our busy Christmas season dates. We will be releasing dates and times for Fort Collins and Wellington as well as a few Municipality Holiday Festivals. We look forward to serving our communities with some joy this Holiday season and hope to see you all out there.
We have been busy with several weddings and Ghost tours these past couple months. We are also under a COVID quarantine, but we will hopefully be back Down Town Fort Collins October 8th & 9th. Here are some photos to show off from the past several jobs. We hope you enjoy and we hope to see you all soon. Stay safe!
Yesterday was a gorgeous day for a wedding! Was a little nervous at first because we had a little spit of rain come through, but it cleared up and ended up being an amazing wedding. The boys 2.0 did amazing as they have been! Congrats to the newly weds 💍 and thank you for having us be apart of your special day!
Join us July 24th for Carriage Rides at the Gilpin County Fair!
We had a great time being apart of the Wellington 4th of July parade yesterday. The boys 2.0 did really well considering Cash had never been in that kind of environmemt before. Parades are always unpredictable and the things you come across you could never prepare for. Tom and Cash handled it better than I could have expected and am grateful Cash stepped up to fill in Ted's shoes. I am hopeful for his continued easy going nature and handle what comes at him attitude. If anyone took any extra photos of us in the parade and your willing to share we'd love to see them. Most of these photos were taken by our friend Ashley. Thanks Ashley!

The weather is not being cooperative for carriage rides this weekend, but boy does Colorado need this moisture. It may not be actively raining during our ride times, but the roads and our pick up spot may be wet and slippery which is dangerous for the horses, you and us. So we will be cancelling tonight's rides again. Sorry for any dissappointment, but safety first! With that said it looks like the weather will be perfect for the 4th of July Weekend, so please come out and celebrate the Holiday with us next Friday and Saturday from 6:30PM-9PM or feel free to catch us out at the 4th of July Parade and Celebration in Wellington on Sunday at 10AM! Don't forget you can reserve a ride by contacting us on messenger!
We will be cancelling carriage rides in Downtown Fort Collins tonight due to the weather. Safety is one of our top priorities when it comes to our horses, our clients and ourselves. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We hope to see you tomorrow or on another day of operation.
Thank you for your understanding.
We had a pretty good first Friday and Saturday in Downtown Fort Collins. We had a few friends stop and see us. And we can't Thank Heather and Ben enough for bringing in one of their teams to help us out this weekend. We're so grateful and appreciative of all the support we've received this weekend and the weeks prior to us getting down there. We can't wait to see what this adventure brings us and our horses. We hope to provide the community with a fun time while making our horses health and happiness the priority. They are our family first and foremost. Thank you everyone who took a ride with us. We hope you join us again.
