For this week’s Therapeutic Thursday, we have these words from Mama Lau herself: “Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly. Judy Garland sang one of the most famous songs in musical history about birds flying over the rainbow. “Why, oh why can’t I?” That’s a great question. Why can’t you?
What are your ultimate possibilities, your potential for success, for realizing your craft and artistry in a beautiful amalgamation that sustains you in a viable career? Your possibilities are endless: combinations of happenings, events, meetings, and relationships, waiting to be or soon to be. So, rather than prematurely sliding into the pot of gold, you have to climb first.
It’s interesting that the shape of the rainbow is a big arch. We think about the climb, the hard work of getting to the top, of reaching the zenith, the apex, where the glide begins. Where residuals come in, paychecks land steadily, and a substantial career supports us almost without thinking. But we often don’t realize how long that actually takes (sometimes a lifetime) to earn that reward.”
