A few weeks ago in April, we had the pleasure of catering a traditional TEN course Asian banquet-style meal for a wonderful couple! This special menu was a true culinary collaboration between several of our chefs and featured a rich variety of authentic dishes—including Cambodian fried rice, Cambodian wedding steak (also known as Steak Katna), lobster with ginger scallion, roasted duck, and whole fried flounder.

At SYB Catering & Bar, we specialize in multicultural and authentic fusion cuisine. There is truly no cuisine or country we can’t bring to life for your celebration.

SYB/Soraya helped us create an upscale multi-course asian banquet for our foodie guests. They could not stop raving about how delicious everything was. Throwback to this stunning Lebanese wedding where we brought all the traditions to life! From an 8-piece zaffeh group, a cake so tall it had to be cut with a sword, to an Arabic band, endless delicious food, vibrant entertainment, and flowers galore — every detail was filled with beauty, bling, and pure joy. As the crisp autumn air settles in, I find myself reminiscing about that enchanting wedding we planned this past October, where the fusion of Greek and Puerto Rican cultures were represented! The intimate home setting was filled with lots of love, great food and of course dancing! The menu reflected both cultures with arroz con gandules, plantains, pernil, chicken souvlaki and popular greek cookies!

Thankful for what I do! I get to help create memorable and fun events that will be forever embedded in people's minds and lives. I love the fact that every week, every month and every year is different, different with the new people I get to meet and the new ideas I get to help create. Let's discuss baraat's! A baraat is an Indian/Southeast Asian groom wedding procession where his friends and family travel to the bride's home. Now in this decade, some weddings are adopting a bride & groom's baraat. This is what we did for J & P! We also did it during the Sangeet/Welcome dinner, when a baraat is usually done before the wedding ceremony. The beauty and specialty was that we had a traditional dohl drummer for the groom's side and a bag pipe player to represent the bride's side! Not to mention the pink turbons, cute horse and pretty silk wands!!
