Did you know? Vicki Lawrence was the first artist to release "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia"? The song was written by her "former" husband... Bobby Russell. It quickly became a number one hit, selling over a million copies, and earning Vicki a gold record in 1973. Years later an altered version of the song was released for the movie of the same name, by country star Tanya Tucker. In 1991 Reba Macentire covered the song cementing it even further into the history books.
