We’re a luxury event design firm, established in 2012. Our team is redefining and reimagining what a wedding planner could be.

With a keen editorial eye and a panache for hospitality, The Kate + Company Experience is an approach that marries interior design with concierge services for creative wedding consultation. Although our roots are in the midwest, we have planned and produced stunning affairs across North America. For us, it’s all in the details and our fresh ideas and discerning taste help us create engaging experi

ences for all of our guests. Rather than rely on event suppliers for inspiration or ideas, all of our creative concepts originate in-house. We start by collaborating with you to cook up something special. Then, we share our sketches, style guides, and floor plans with the florist or stationer - giving them a great jumping-off point. We’ll approach your affair with the same attention to detail and keen eye for thoughtful design that makes us a leader in our industry. We welcome guest lists, investment levels, and soirees of all sizes that value an emphasis on the guest experience and a detailed design. While each of our events are unique and we work with a variety of budgets, the average investment seen in our portfolio begins at $1,650 per person. Due to the time and attention required to successfully execute events with our full planning and design offering, we accept a limited number of client’s with these services per year. We made magic on Mackinac, but that wasn’t the best part ✨

We’re lucky enough to travel the world bringing wedding dreams to life, and stepping in mid-planning is never easy. But for Nina and Ryan, the choice was simple. Their love radiated through that very first virtual call, and from that moment on we knew these two were special. Through the process, clients became friends, and before we knew it Mackinac was calling.

When you travel for this work, it’s easy to be treated as the help. With Nina and Ryan’s and each of their guests, it was the opposite. Every single person was warm, welcoming, and took the time to truly get to know each of us. We boarded the ferry home with a renewed sense of why we fell in love with this line of work in the first place!

And the logistics? An island with no gas powered anything meant round the clock horse drawn drays for every delivery. Coupled with lake effect weather with a mind of its own and nearly ten events across three days. Guys, Mackinac weddings are not for the faint of heart. But for Nina and Ryan, we’d do it again in a heartbeat 🫶🏼

A wedding planner with three boys… of course 🫠 Life with these three is loud and wild and not for the faint of heart, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
