ICYMI: There is a dam being proposed on the South Llano river to create a private lake that would impound 12.02 acre feet of water 20 miles upstream from Junction. Effects of this dam proposed by Waterstone LLC, would be far reaching for us as a business and would set a dangerous precedent for our precious navigable rivers in Texas. Water is life for our often drought stricken region. We can't risk that for one landowner's whims. We will be submitting public comment and Llano River Watershed Alliance encourages everyone that would be personally affected by this dam to submit public comment or attend the next meeting (Thursday, August 10, 6:00 pm in Rocksprings ISD School Auditorium, 201 North Hwy 377). Maybe this Stinging Buck Moth caterpillar.
Those bright fuzzies might be pretty, but the venom in those spikes is not worth the pet!

With some April rains, perhaps we will have some May flowers. Join us and search for wildflowers. Pre-registration required. $5 (with paid admission)/MEMBERS FREE. Nature Hikes are scheduled Wednesdays from 10 - 11:30 a.m. and the first weekend of the month.
