The Hunter Barn

The Hunter Barn The Hunter Barn is a hand-crafted, rustic-style wedding venue located in Waynesville, GA. The Hunter Barn is owned and operated by Ernest and Brooklyn Hunter.

The large post and beam barn has been handmade specially by Ernest. He has cut up every bit of the wood himself (and sometimes his hands!) on the sawmill he got specifically for the building of the barn.

This sweet couple will always hold a special place in my heart. 🤍

Their kindness, support, and thoughtfulness through the last few weeks meant more to me than they probably realize!!

So thankful for couples like these and so happy I finally got around to sharing a few favorites from their beautiful day. Somehow a wedding from less than two months ago already feels like forever ago.

No news is good news. It’s been calm around here and we are still okay.

Last night brought a little peace after everything.

We’re just waiting on roads to reopen before we can get back to hosting. Could be soon, could take a little time…we just don’t know yet.

Our hearts are heavy for our community. We’re continuing to pray for everyone affected and all the families walking through so much right now.

Out riding along the firebreak on the property and checking on things.

Everything is looking okay around here right now. The pond was already low, but it’s definitely dropped more—probably about 2 feet from all the helicopter dips.

Still hard to process everything that’s happened/ing. Continuing to pray for our community. 🤍

We are hearing reports that the fire has crossed Browntown Road near Boots Harrison.

We have not personally confirmed this, but wanted to share for awareness. Please continue to follow official updates and evacuate immediately if advised.

We have also lost power. Our barn is on the left here.

10:30am Update 4/25/26

No big change for us this morning at the moment. The days are all running together…

Two days ago, the National Guard used our pond as part of the effort to fight the wildfire nearby.

We had the chance to speak with Mark Winne with WSB-TV news and Colonel Cox about what’s been happening, but more than anything—we just want to say thank you.

Thank you to the pilots, crews, and first responders working tirelessly to protect our community. We are praying for safety, for the families affected, and for much-needed rain. 🤍

Fire retardant planes circling every 15 minutes.

Seeing this kind of response gives us so much hope. So thankful for the crews out here doing everything they can. 🙏
