Many dont realize that I alter wedding dresses too…I rarely post pics of wedding dresses because its difficult to show the work done. Plus I dont have a professional camera to take pics for my business.
This beautiful bride had gorgeous photos taken and she truly is this beautiful in person with no makeup! She came to me because she wasnt completely happy with the bodice, the coverage, the bow, the hem plus it needed a bustle. So she told me her vision and Im SEW glad my finished work can be displayed in these photos🥳🥰 Thankful Jasmine sent me these pics to share!

Donated gowns can be placed in the drop off bin outside of our building anytime! We look forward to seeing you next month!

There are days when Im out at a softball game watching my daughter play when I get a phonecall from a panicked bride whos dress doesnt fit and the wedding is just days away. She bought her dress awhile ago and it fit perfect then. However as time passed, stress accrued and so did a little extra. She and her fiancee called me because the dress wasnt zipping close. I really try not to answer my work stuff on weekends, but when I got their voicemail I thought it was best to facetime to see if anything even could be done. So there I was facetiming with two people Ive never met and with a loud ballgame in the background.
We met the next day face to face and I took the dress apart right in front of them while they waited so patiently for an hour. They watched me as I picked out the threads and seams that hold her priceless garment together- threads much like the new memories that will come from wearing this dress on her wedding day! It took an hour for me to try to let out the sides of the dress and the zipper and replace with temporary stitches. Then she tried it on and it fit like a glove!
She had room to breathe a sigh of relief that the dress would zip and work perfect for her special day which was just 5 days away. I took an extra couple of days to put the whole dress back completely with permanent stitches and she picked it up today. She is overjoyed now!
This is just one reason why I truly love what I do SEW very much!

Yesterday was a LONG day and very emotional on top of it for various reasons.

That being said, a bridal client of mine in the afternoon. She left a few weeks ago with her dress fitting perfect but said she recently lost weight and the dress doesnt fit as well anymore. She was super stressed bc she leaves for her wedding in Las Vegas in just 7 days. Although im very booked with fall wedding and HoCo dresses, I told her to come by last night and we would work it out. When she showed up, she had her dress and these flowers for me…flowers that she personally designed and put together for me!

Well an hour of fitting, stitching, fitting, stitching, the dress was done and she feels AMAZING again in her dress! And i have these beautiful flowers as a reminder there are SEW many things to be grateful for!

Prom and Wedding season is officially upon us!!! Clients have been scheduling since mid January and will continue through the end of May. This is like my “tax season”, work as hard as you can for that short period of time and it’ll pay off. These dresses all are needing to be done by May 17th at the latest but some due in a few days.
Despite the back pain and the scattered threads, sequins and beads throughout the house, I LOVE the work I do!!!
Clients are generous and trusting! I will get your item done before the due date- Ive never been late for a date! And thats probably why I have SEW many REPEAT clients!
