There’s something so beautiful about a small, intimate wedding. 🤍

Simple, elegant, and so thoughtfully done. Every detail was tasteful and beautiful and even more special knowing Mom was the planner and coordinator behind it all.

The rain came, the rain left, and it gave us the perfect little window to head outside and capture some beautiful moments in a backyard before the ceremony and event space after the ceremony. The lighting was just brilliant and gorgeous!

Such a lovely day and a joy to be a part of the union of these two souls and families. 🤍💍🤍

There is something incredibly special about getting to photograph a family you’ve had the privilege of watching grow over the years. ❤️

I’ve been photographing this family off and on since she was about 4 years old. Long before I was a photographer full-time, I knew them when I was a single mom working at the YMCA drop-in program. I watched these kids grow, watched their personalities unfold, and somehow, all these years later, I’m still getting to capture their story through my camera.

So when I get to photograph a young lady I’ve known since she was little, it feels like so much more than just another photo session. It feels like getting a little glimpse into all the years between then and now.

I get to see the little girl I remember becoming the beautiful, confident young woman she is today and I get to freeze a little piece of this season for her family to hold onto forever.

What an honor it is to be trusted with those memories. And what a gift it is to grow alongside the families I photograph. 📸❤️

Senior sessions are never about fitting into a mold, they're about capturing who someone truly is.

A few years ago, I had the honor of photographing Lauren's sister, Sophia. This year, it was Lauren's turn, and while they share the same family, their personalities couldn't be more different. That's one of my favorite parts of what I do.

Lauren is quiet and thoughtful, but she has a confidence that's easy to admire. She knew exactly what she wanted her session to reflect: her faith, her love for the country, and a little adventure with a fun vehicle to tie it all together. Every location, every detail, and every smile felt authentically her. So here are a few random ones I decided to share.

My goal is never to recreate someone else's session. It's to tell your story.

What’s something you, as a consumer, wish more businesses understood about marketing?

Lighting matters more than the camera.
A decent phone with good light will almost always beat an expensive camera with bad light.
If you want better photos:
☀️ Have subject face or be at a 45º angle to a window, best if diffused.
☀️ Avoid overhead yellow lighting, we don't want raccoon eyes… yellowed!
☀️ Shoot earlier or later in the day, for less harsh sun.
☀️ Turn OFF extra clutter in the background, aim for simple backgrounds.

Simple changes make a huge difference.
