The Don Taylor Writers’ Marketplace is among the premiere highlights of our festival. This year, over forty local authors will be present, showcasing their best work. This is your chance to meet them, purchase signed copies of their newest work, and build connections within the local writing community.

Occurring all day throughout Saturday, November 7, be sure to visit the marketplace within the upper levels of Carroll University’s Main Hall. Spanning across all genres and styles, there is truly something for every reader via the Don Taylor Writers’ Marketplace.

Are you an author participating this year? We thank you for your interest and for joining us! Confirmation will be coming soon regarding your table, as well as loading and unloading instructions. If you have any immediate questions, do not hesitate to contact us via email (link in bio).

This is your guide to the first day of our festival for 2026! Occurring on Friday, November 6, this evening will be hosted in the Carroll University Stacker Ballroom.

Join us at 5:00 PM for the inaugural reception, sponsored by the Maas Foundation. Stick around for the Writing Contest Ceremony, followed by the keynote presentation with Edward Underhill. Afterwards, get copies of his latest material signed, provided by Books and Company!

Tickets are required for this reception. Information on how to secure those will be posted as soon as the procedure is finalized. We are looking forward to a huge turnout Friday evening!

Many notable authors will be ready for discussion at our panels for this year’s festival!

Jesse Brookstein and Jeanette Hurt team up for a discussion surrounding all things Wisconsin Food and culinary culture.

Meanwhile, Kathie Giorgio and Margaret Rozga discuss expanding their creative boundaries: Kathie, a tried-and-true novelist released a poetry collection. Margaret, an acclaimed poet, created a memoir for the first time.

Meet the keynote speaker: Edward Underhill!

Edward Underhill is an award-winning author who grew up in the suburbs of Wisconsin, where he could not walk to anything, so he had to make up his own adventures.

He is the author of The House of Now and Then, The In-Between Bookstore, and the YA novels Always the Almost, This Day Changes Everything, and In Case You Read This.

His books have earned starred reviews, been named Indie Next and ALA Rainbow List selections and LibraryReads Top 10 picks, and been included on numerous “best of the year” lists.
