The very first event I ever did, I was freaking out.
I had a million thoughts running through my head. What if people didn’t like the food? What if I burned everything? What if I sweat so much that it dripped into the food?

Seriously… that last one was a real concern.
So I threw on a bandana to catch anything that might drip. Then I looked in the mirror and thought, “Damn… I actually look like I know what I’m doing.”

And just like that, the Taquito Guy was born.

Over the years, that simple bandana has evolved. Now it has our logo on it, and I wear it at every single event. Not because it’s part of a uniform, but because it’s a reminder of where this journey started.

It’s a reminder that confidence doesn’t always come from knowing exactly what you’re doing. Sometimes confidence comes from showing up, putting yourself out there, and believing you’re capable of figuring it out along the way.
When you look the part, you feel good. When you feel good, you carry yourself differently. And when you carry yourself with confidence, you’ll chase dreams that once felt impossible.

To everyone out there chasing a goal, starting a business, changing careers, or taking that first scary step—find your bandana. Find whatever gives you the confidence to believe in yourself and go after it.

There are no limits to what you can achieve except the ones you place on yourself.

The truth is, I still don’t know what I’m doing half the time. I’m still learning how to lead my crew. I’m still learning how to teach while I’m learning myself. But I’ve learned that when you put in the work, pay attention to the little details, stay humble enough to keep learning, and believe in yourself, amazing things can happen.

Keep showing up.
Keep learning.
Keep believing.

You might just surprise yourself with what you’re capable of.

Being a dad is one of the greatest blessings and biggest responsibilities I’ve ever had. Every day I hope I’m teaching my kids the right things—not just with my words, but with my actions. I hope they learn the value of hard work, kindness, integrity, and showing up for the people you love.

As dads, we’re constantly being pulled in different directions. Work demands our time. Goals demand our energy. Life moves fast, and sometimes it feels like there are never enough hours in the day. But no matter how busy life gets, my family will always be my why.

For my kids, I will do whatever it takes to protect them, provide for them, and most importantly, be present for them. The toys and fancy clothes will fade with time, but the memories we make together and the example we set will last forever.

To all the dads out there grinding every day, keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep being the best version of yourself for your family. Your kids may not always say it, but they’re watching, they’re learning, and they need you more than you know.

Happy Father’s Day.

Today is the kickoff of the Wauconda Farmers Market, and we are so bummed that we can’t make opening day! We have a private event on the books today, but don’t worry—we’ll be on Main Street next week, 06/25, serving up all your favorite taquitos!

If you’ve never been to the Wauconda Farmers Market, you’re missing out. The Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce always does an amazing job putting these events together, and the theme days lead to some pretty hilarious shenanigans. Here are a few photos from past markets to prove it!

If you’ve got nothing planned tonight, head downtown, support local, and check out all the awesome vendors that make this market so special. Small businesses thrive because of communities like ours, and every visit means the world.
We’ll see you all in exactly ONE WEEK to get your taquito fix!
