June 1st means one thing...Wauconda Farmers Market season is right around the corner!

I know, I know... I wish we had more availability too. But here it is! We’ve officially locked in 5 dates at the Wauconda Farmers Market this year.

To our hometown community: thank you. You all have been supporting us since day one, and we couldn’t be more honored to be back serving where it all started.

Mark your calendars, tell your friends, and come hungry! If you’ve been to the market when FD Taquitos rolls in, you already know it’s beautiful chaos. The love and support you all show us every single time is something we’ll never take for granted.

I’ve never pretended to be something I’m not. I’m not a professionally trained chef. My education and career have always been centered around emergency care and firefighting. But when it comes to taquitos, events, and building FD Taquitos, I’ve taken everything the fire service has taught me — structure, discipline, preparation, teamwork, pride in your craft, and genuine care for people — and poured it into this little catering business.

What started as a small idea has turned into opportunities I never imagined, and being able to share something I’m passionate about with my hometown means more to me than I can put into words. Wauconda has supported us from the beginning, and I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity.

During the class we’ll be making fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, sharing tips on how to roll the perfect taquito, and of course ending with some good food together.

Space is limited, so make sure to reach out to the Wauconda Park District and sign up! I seriously can’t wait to share this experience, some laughs, and a little piece of what we’ve built with all of you. Thank you again for all the support — it truly means the world to me.

This morning our kids woke up and asked, “Are we going to go do the flags?” A Memorial Day tradition we been doing ever since the first one was a baby.

Yes, Memorial Day weekend is known as the kickoff to summer. The grills will be fired up, the pools cleaned, and families will be enjoying time together. But no matter how busy life gets, I make it a point for our family to continue this tradition every year.

Today we honor our past members. I make sure we take time out of our day to stop, reflect, and remember what today is really about.
I don’t know if our kids fully understand the meaning behind it all just yet, but I’m grateful they look forward to these traditions and that they’re learning the importance of honoring those who came before us.
