I can now say from personal experience that the New Mexico room at the Retreat is the perfect place for recovery from major surgery! Everything I needed was within reach, with only a few steps to get to the ADA bathroom and walk-in shower. Plug-ins for phone and computers on a nightstand, just the right height so that I didn't have to over-extend my reach. The bed was the perfect height, making it easy to get in and out of. Smart TV with streaming services (and a sleep timer on the remote) provided distraction. A wing chair next to the bed gave me the option to sit comfortably when I wasn't in bed. Plenty of space in the room to park the walker and wheelchair. I had beautiful sunset views from my bed every evening. Once ambulatory, I went out to the covered patio for some fresh air. My caregiver stayed in an adjacent room so she was always nearby. Two weeks post-op, I am ready to take a soak in the air tub!
