What a great time had by all honoring this year’s Alex Alves Award recipient, Joseph McGrail at the Grand Oak Villa.
Alexander L. Alves (1903-1993) was considered by many to be an outstanding humanitarian, often working behind the scenes assisting individuals and groups in need, declining recognition for his efforts. In his memory the Watertown Rotary Club honors someone from the community who exemplifies the attributes of Mr. Alves.

The Grand Oak Villa was buzzing for the Give Local 2025 GEAR UP PARTY! Give Local is a 36-hour-long online fundraising give-a-thon hosted by Connecticut Community Foundation and presenting sponsor ION Bank Foundation. We enjoyed providing the backdrop for such an inspiring event, filled with passionate individuals gearing up for a great cause. Dozens of nonprofit leaders and staff, donors, sponsors, and community members from Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills gathered to energize, and encourage each other helping to raise over 2.5 million!
