I met almost a year ago when she came into my studio for a portrait session. This Friday, she’ll be leading our June gathering, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Kelly is an author, poet, editor, and co-founder of Poets in the Pines. During this interactive workshop, we’ll explore storytelling, journaling, creative writing, and the power of owning our stories. Together, we’ll reconnect with our voices, reflect on our experiences, and discover how our stories can create connection and inspire others.

Because every woman has a story inside her waiting to be shared.

Space buns, roller skates & a whole lot of laughs. This session was life! Heidi & I met through my photography business and quickly become close friends. Through the last year, it has felt more like a sister bond. We support each other through all the waves of life and have created our own special memories with our families. And I’m so grateful. 🥰

Let this message be a reminder to send a gratitude message to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while. Maybe a simple message like, “I was a thinking of you, hope you’re doing awesome” kind of message.

One year ago this month, I took Angela’s first set of branding photos. I’ve watched Angela go from talking about her vision for Whispering Willows to creating it, and surrounding herself with a team of amazing therapists that shares that same passion for helping others.

Angela has created a space where people can feel safe, supported, and not alone. The practice offers EMDR therapy, Brainspotting, ERP for OCD, trama, substance addiction, anxiety and depression.

This week, as she prepares for her Open House, I celebrate Angela bringing hope, healing and connection for many through the practices services.

Congratulations, Angela. I celebrate you for following your dreams and hope many people can join the open house June 13th to meet the team and learn more about your practice.

Laura participated in our second round of 40 Over 40 Portrait Experience. We're in the process of changing the name of the experience/exhibition, and it's women like Laura who inspired the change. We felt like we needed the name to feel empowering, and powerful, like the women's stories and portraits who have participated over the last two exhibitions. So in the next few weeks, you will see us post more about "The Unstoppable over 40" Portrait Experience!

There’s something so powerful about Laura passing the crown in this photo as we share the new title, almost as if she’s inviting other women to step into their power, wear their crown, and embrace the strength and confidence that already lives within them.

Life moves fast. Take the pictures with your loved ones even when you think you’re having a bad hair day. Print your photos so you can have photo treasures to look back on years from now. Book a special experience for yourself that feels like a challenge but is calling your soul.

A reintroduction felt like a good way to start the new month. I'm Melissa Tousley, portrait photographer, artist, community leader, founder of NNY Women Who Lead, and owner of Sarissa Melissa Photography. I love creating portrait experiences that help people feel confident, celebrated, and connected to their story. I also love creating photos for anyone that has ever said "I'm awkward in photos," or... "maybe one day."

It's more than a photo session. It’s a vibe! We'll start with a consultation, create a session that's uniquely you, and spend some time making magic together. The best part? Getting to know the incredible people who step in front of my camera! This means, we might be friends for a long time after this session. Some of my clients I have photographed from kids to high school seniors. Some business owners I have photographed at each stage of growth in their business. Sometimes I feel old when this happens, haha.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll often find me building connections through NNY Women Who Lead, a community created to bring together women who believe in growth, collaboration, and supporting one another. Stay tuned for some awesomeness that we have planned for the remainder of 2026!

I have had my studio in Watertown for the last 11 years so studio sessions happen, AND... I also leave the studio for sessions! (hahaha.. this is a fun joke with me and my friends since someone once asked if I ever leave my space!)
