Colonel's Landing Colonel's Landing is a low cost event venue in a country setting, near Water Valley, Miss. It is a g Colonel's Landing was founded by Colonel Lloyd F.

White after he retrired from the Air Force and moved to Water Valley, MS. Colonel White purchased the land from the Ware family, circa 1972. At the time, the land was mostly pasture, oak groves, and forest. The Landing was improved with the addition of a pond and a small cabin on the Noth side on the 145 acre property. Colonel White planted peach, apple, plum, and pear orchards and also raised cat

tle and hay on the land. For about 20 years, Colonel's Landing was a popluar place for birthday parties, church gatherings, family reunions, and other events. After Colonel White's death in December 1994, the Landing was placed in a trust and inherited by his grandsons in 2003. During this time, Colonel's Landing fell on hard times. The orchards died, the cabin desentegrated, pastures turned to forest, and pond levees washed out without the love and attention Colonel White so continuously gave to his farm. The good times had there were all but forgotten by the people who once visited Colonel's Landing. Today, Colonel's Landing is being renovated and will soon be restored to it's former glory.
