you’re supposed to plan it. that’s what the laws of social media say (or something). and somewhere in the midst of that, YEAR 4 🫶🏻 came and went😂

So get a little vulnerable with me…. And buckle up🙈

Four years ago, I started this business on a whim with no idea where it would go. For four years, I focused on building and growing.

But… I didn’t start my own business to girl boss my way to the top or to be so busy I can’t breathe. I started it because I wanted a life where I could be a mom AND have a career. A wife. A friend. An actual person outside of work.

4.5 years ago, I sat on a Zoom call nursing my baby while being asked why my productivity was down. She was in therapy because she wouldn’t take a bottle, and I was her only source of nutrition. I found myself explaining why feeding my baby had to take priority.

Somewhere in that conversation, I realized how ridiculous it was that I had to justify it at all.

I started thinking about school pickup, my husband’s first responder schedule, and the life I actually wanted. So I built it.
The first few years were a blur. 60+ weddings, incredible clients, failures, lessons, and learning exactly how far I could push myself before burning out💀

This year has been HARD. I’ve been navigating huge personal and professional growth while balancing a season of motherhood that has drained me to my core.

But it reminded me why I’m here.

I started this so I could be Layla and Rowan’s mom AND Dylan the wedding planner. Tyler’s wife. Someone’s best friend. And still have something left for myself.

It reminded me that a fully booked summer doesn’t have to mean a wedding every weekend.

That I can say no simply because I don’t want to work that weekend.

And that doesn’t make me selfish. It makes me human.

Things are shifting for Year 5. I’ll be taking on less because right now my family needs more—and I think I deserve to take a breath again, too🥹

I’m excited to pour more into the couples who choose to work with me.
If you’ve been here for any part of these four years, thank you. I’ll always feel honored that you chose me to be part of your story.
