I’m always down for another helping of green bean casserole or watching the Macy’s Parade with my little ones. But at this time of year in particular, I am reminded that the greatest part of the holidays - just like the best part of weddings - is getting to create amazing memories and share in the joy of spending time with the ones you love.⁣

Personally, I’m all about that chocolatey goodness and decadent Bavarian cream, so my ultimate favorite dessert is a Boston Creme Pie donut... but that’s when I’m really indulging. More often I’ll enjoy a few strawberries and whipped cream as an after-dinner treat.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

‘Tis the season of giving, so I thought I’d give each of you an early present, the gift of KNOWLEDGE - I’m sorry I didn’t wrap it... wasn’t quite sure how. 😋⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since today is National , I wanted to give you three tips on how to reduce stress while wedding planning. ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Schedule: Put specific time on your calendar to focus on - this should be no more than 90 mins per day. Decide ahead of time what element you want to focus on, and then set yourself up for success - turn off notifications, stay away from social media, and work in a quite space so you don’t get distracted. Set a timer, and when it goes off... WALK AWAY! The key to this is that you give yourself not only the time to plan, but the time away from planning as well.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ List It Out: There are several websites, apps, and even wedding vendors (such as yours truly) that can help you in creating a comprehensive list of tasks that need to be completed. While this may seem daunting, it is also extremely helpful in removing that fear that you’ve forgot something important. Once you have your list created, break it into chunks - by due date, by “owner”, and by time commitment. This will make it much more manageable and hopefully reduce some of the feeling of overwhelm.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Plan To NOT Plan: As I mentioned in the first tip, you need to take time to disconnect from planning. Go out to dinner with your fiancé. Have a ladies’ spa night our or in. Get outside for a walk, run or group exercise. Take a cooking or painting class. Just do SOMETHING you find enjoyable, and make sure that you don’t talk or think about planning the entire time you’re doing it.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Is picking a venue with all the bells and whistles? Is it having amazing entertainment that will keep your guests on the dance floor all night long? Is it making sure that there are delicious food options for everyone’s tastes and dietary needs?⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While these are certainly things to consider while planning a wedding, I don’t believe any of them are actually “the most important part”.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what is, you ask?⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Looking forward to the first "post wedding season" weekend. It has been amazing leaning back into my passion for wedding planning, but it is also wonderful to know that I have some downtime on the horizon as we enter .⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
I cannot thank my incredible husband enough for the tremendous support he has been during the last several months as I worked my way through the busy season. And I know that my littles are over the moon to have "fully present" mommy back as we spend some much needed time together. ⁣
