Honored to have been invited by Master Florist to create with BluOceanChrysanthemums This design was inspired by Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” This was an amazing collaboration to be a part of! Brown | Wedding Florals & Event Design for sharing my name with Master Florist thank you to Schaefer Wholesale Florist for delivering these stunning mums to me!!

Creative but on a budget ✨ Let’s discuss ⬇️⬇️

Albeit, I have minimum order requirements. I fully understand what is going on the economy rn for ALL of my clients. I am a consumer too and feel it everywhere I spend money.
The thing is flower prices aren’t getting any cheaper for floral designers. The prices we see for flowers at supermarkets are NOT what we pay wholesale!!! Supermarket flowers are priced so low that they deemed as “loss leaders” so you are okay with walking in and spending $20 on a wedge of cheese, $8 for berries, and $7.99 on bunch of flowers—you feel less guilty about the flowers. Plus, they bring you visual joy and goodness knows we all need joy rn in our lives.
What are floral designers left to do? Close down our shops & studios? Nobody wants to do that. I’m trying to accommodate all of my client requests and still deliver something artistic, exciting and something I am proud to create for them. Maybe that means you see less stems if your budget has shifted? BUT you still get my passion, artistry and care for your designs. My business survived COVID. Did I have to shape shift? ABSOLUTELY!! And I’ll keep being a chameleon and adapt accordingly.

This bouquet 💐 has been quite the talk in my DM’s over the past 2 weeks!!??? I’m honestly so surprised and happy!! I saw the other beautiful bouquets that my design teammates had made—they were lush & radially constructed. I saw these budding red ginger stalks and I fell in love with them!! I’ve never seen them in my life and it was love at first sight. I let them be the ⭐️ of the bouquet. I knew I wanted it to be contemporary and have a proportion directed vertically brace wood where it was going to be placed on the Accent Decor, Inc. metal frame for Hitomi Gilliam and Abby Chick final design in the AIFD presentation—the bouquet wall for a Celebration of Life. The color story of this piece falls in line with my “sexy casket ⚰️ spray” and most of all, it reflects me as a floral artist.
Thank you 🖤🖤 to both Hitomi and Abby for sharing the space with us fellow artists. It was a sincere pleasure to be a part of this ensemble.
