Who says timeless & elegant can’t be wild? 🐆
L & D turned their wedding into a sultry, gold-drenched playground featuring our custom Roulette Girls decked out in gold mesh corsets, surrealist heels, and metallic makeup. They danced in with the couple before serving boas, pearls, and cake to guests throughout the reception.
“Refined maximalism” reigned under regal reds, cheetah print, and chartreuse. Fortune cookies filled with guest secrets(!), a his/hers jazz speakeasy, and champagne on repeat set the tone for the night.
Because incredible never came from playing it safe!
The Modern Luxury Dynamic Women Dinner is more than a celebration, it’s a gathering of the region’s most accomplished and inspiring women! Last week we had the had the honor of providing the live music for the event! Our harpist and the set the tone for a night of gourmet dining, exclusive activations, and meaningful connections.

🤝 Disco Dreams!
But let’s be honest, was made for a night full of disco favorites, Donna Summer’s best hits, and grooving! The Ball never misses and we always love being part of it!
Nestled in her “Modern Mountain” inspired home, we had the honor of bringing some tunes to life at a garden soirée for one of our longtime collaborators turned interior designer! At Lucy Black Entertainment, we believe every moment tells a story, and for this intimate gathering, our goal was to balance elegance, warmth, and a touch of the unexpected. Thank you so much for having us!
We love hosting big industry parties and getting to work with extraordinary vendors who deliver!!
From hosting to two live bands, a DJ, the Gold-Winged Greeter, a champagne contortionist, and roaming interactive performers, every corner of the night was filled with surprises, energy, and pure fun. 🥂

A black-tie night built for a packed dance floor. 🎻🎹 We started with ceremony sound and a violin and keyboard duo, expanded to our full DC String Machine quartet for cocktails, and closed with one of our partner bands who delivered all the Motown, classic hits, and wedding crowd-pleasers! This client knew exactly what they wanted, and that’s our specialty. We don’t just send any band, we curate the right one just for you!
A black-tie celebration deserves a soundtrack to match. 🎹🎷 For R & M’s cocktail hour at the Johns Hopkins Conservatory art gallery, we kept it acoustic! Grand piano and sax, no amplification, just smooth jazz standards and bossa nova floating through the space. Pure, classic cocktail hour vibes in one seriously stunning setting!

A backyard ceremony in DC turned into a street parade the second the couple said ‘I do’. 🎷🎺 A & B had our trumpet and saxophone duo lead a second line through the neighborhood, while the backyard flipped for the reception. By cocktail hour, bass and drums joined in, building a New Orleans-style jazz quartet that kept the vibe high and the party moving. 100 guests, one private home, and the coolest LA-meets-DC energy all night long!

💌 "For our November 2022 wedding, aside from the venue, Lucy Black Ent was the first vendor we booked! After watching their promo video, they truly stood out from any other band on the DC market. From their soulful and authentic sound to working the vendor contract with Lauren (who is literally the sweetest human), choosing them really was a no brainer. On the management side, we were able to completely customize our services for the day of the wedding and Lauren made a point to work with our budget (which was another huge reason why we went with them -- quality customer service is very important to us). We opted to have Lucy Black provide ceremony music and then selected the Lucy Black Luxe Band for the dinner and reception. Our one request was we wanted the band to be interactive with the crowd, and they truly exceeded our expectations. The band was on the floor with our guests, dancing, and kept the energy up all night. Everyone was out on the dance floor, and the most compliments we recieved from our wedding was from just how amazing the band was. You could tell every member of that band was truly all in the moment with our guests. Major thanks to Lauren who was so easy going, flexible, kind, and made sure all of our questions and comments were addressed. We took our music selection very seriously --- in our opinion, it makes or breaks a wedding. Lucy Black Luxe literally TORE the house down and it was without a doubt one of the best decisions we made! If I could plan another event just to book them again, I would! Truly masters at their craft and a joy to have at our wedding. Thank you thank you thank you! One things for sure, you have gained some new fans :)!"
NYE weddings just hit different! 🍾 A & T wanted a night that started with timeless classics and ended with a disco-meets-EDM dance floor, and our Beat Collective (DJ Tezrah with live sax & percussion) delivered! From Sinatra over dinner to Blink-182 as an encore, this party did not quit! We love ringing in the New Year at a wedding. It's a night full of love, good times, and good vibes! 🪩
Perhaps one of the most EPIC weddings we’ve ever been part of. The made the perfect backdrop, three stories of soaring glass walls that created the most stunning setting for this celebration! From the floral arches to the incredible design, you can clearly see no detail was missed!
We customized the ceremony and cocktail hour with our string quartet (peep them playing on the 3rd story catwalk!) and then flew in our electric violin/DJ to create a WOW moment for the cocktail hour! 🤩 Each moment of the night was curated to fit the couple.

Nope. No one here is actually named Lucy ... but here is our story.
The year was 2002 - Lauren began her freshman year of college at the University of Memphis, as a viola performance major. Despite Rebecca being a few years ahead, as fellow violists in the same studio, they quickly became friends - and were inseparable! After graduation, they both went their separate ways in life. C'est la vie...
Fast forward to 2014 - Rebecca was firmly established in the DC events and music world, both performing and coordinating, and Lauren was looking to make a change. Rebecca pushed her to throw caution to the wind and move to DC, to start a new chapter in life! Not long after, they became co-workers and realized that not only were they best friends, but they were amazingly good at running a business together. As team members of a premier entertainment company, they coordinated everything from strings, bands, and entertainers - to designing shows, traveling far and wide - thus sparking a deeper passion for the events world!
Having relationships across the country with some of the best artists, DJs, musicians, dancers, and performers, the writing was on the wall - it was time to set out on their own and create something different! Hence, Lucy Black Entertainment was born.
Rebecca's first fur baby was a black lab rescue named Lucy. She was the kindest, smartest, and most loyal being one could ever imagine. Not long after Lucy passed, Lauren adopted her adorable little black rescue pup, Lulu. We always joke that Lauren named Lulu after Lucy (in Rebecca's mind at least!). So, it seemed appropriate to choose a strong, yet feminine name, to encompass who we are and what we stand for. We chose the sweetness of Lucy and the strength of Black - Lucy Black!
We commit to lifting one another up, choosing kindness, and upholding honesty and integrity. As a women-owned business at the onset of a new feminine revolution, it is time to shake things up in a male-dominated entertainment world.
So here's to doing
