This NY t-shirt has made the rounds. A tiny family heirloom of questionable cotton quality and very high emotional value.
It’s one of the few things from my childhood that I have been able to share with my own children - and maybe that’s why it means so much. A little thread of continuity. A soft reminder that even when we come from something hard, we can still carry forward the parts worth keeping.
I didn’t grow up with big parties or cozy traditions. My childhood was kind of the opposite. But somewhere along the way, I decided I wanted better—for my family and for other families like mine. More joy. More soft places to land.
The Play Shop isn’t just an event space - It’s a gathering place for the good stuff— for the young and the young at heart, for anyone who just needs somewhere cozy and joyful to be for a little while.
