This Earth Day 🌎, I’m thinking about our little tree planted two years ago in Costa Rica’s blue zone. So thankful for clients like who understand how important it is to celebrate in impactful ways. We ended their incentive trip with a ceremonial tree potting ceremony and a donation to assist with mangrove rehabilitation / deforestation efforts. Thankful for partners like who are committed to sustainability. When constructed, the resort was designed to minimize tree removal—and the trees that were eliminated were used to create furniture in the guest rooms. As event planners, it is important to create meaningful experiences while supporting businesses who care deeply about the future of our 🌎.-AK

Anyone else ready to explore? For as long as I can remember my work has taken me abroad several times a year. I can’t remember ever being “home” for this long and I’m itching to get away big time tonight. My creativity is fueled by visiting new places, meeting new colleagues, learning about local traditions and stumbling upon authentic inspiration. To be home this long as had its perks, but I would give anything to be back exploring somewhere new.-AK

You are golden - shine on! A year ago today - lockdown feels like just yesterday and also a lifetime ago. Fitting that I’m in bed with my second vaccine as I post this - a bit nauseous but so also damn happy to be pondering CA’s new released guidelines.


A few hours ago challenged us to tablescape challenge - an opportunity to “use what we have” to create something beautiful. My take - a little slice of California Dreamin. As I pulled things out of closets and off shelves, I was reminded that while “stuff” doesn’t bring us joy, the memories associated with tangible things sure do. Setting this tabletop transported me back to an epic girls trip to Aspen with planners I admire and love...to the warm beaches of Mexico where I can almost feel the salt air breeze on my face...to weekends at our favorite local bar spent with friends...to Tennessee bonfires & planner parties... and then home to the CA citrus trees just outside my Adobe windows. What a wonderful journey these tablescapes are taking us on. They aren’t overly thought out, anywhere near perfect, but that’s what makes them so special too. Hope you enjoy mine!-AK
