Back to work

After being laid off in November 2024 I’m finally back at it. I’m not gonna to lie, the job search was hard….AF. As a Black woman it felt nearly impossible at times and the only way I could get back in was by taking a $31k pay cut. That part still makes my chest hurt.

In the middle of all this I had to step away from NAK Design Studio and take a break from building our first app . That was hard too because my vision for both is so much bigger than where I am right now.

So here I am, back at work. Complaining a little because it’s not what I wanted but also thankful because I know how hard it was to get here. Frustrated and grateful at the same time. Both can be true.

This is just another stressful 😩chapter and not the whole story.

Networking still makes me a little anxious sometimes but that doesn’t mean I don’t do it. I just found my own way to make it work:

Step 1: Get fine. Like real fine.
Step 2: Walk in like I own the room.
Step 3: Remember why I’m here…to build something bigger than me.

Even when it’s uncomfortable, I’ve learned showing up matters. And when I feel good in my skin? My confidence does the talking.

got an honorable mention on the 2025 RealLIST Startups and I’m really just… proud. 😊

Building in fashion + tech isn’t always taken seriously — especially outside of places like NY or LA — but we’re doing the work and getting noticed.

Grateful for the recognition. Motivated to keep going.
And yes… last slide is my current mood🤭😝
