Welcome back to David! He's back to Wed. evening classes after a nice summer off. Tonight he began a new oil painting. Krystiana is nearing completion of her fun, vibrant and interesting floral gouache painting. Roni drew some gorgeous Morning Glories free-hand! Ashley is working on a composition that she will turn into a window painting at her home.

Monday Adult 1-3
Welcome back Elise-N L ! She was able to finish her magical acrylic of a phoenix-like unicorn, breathtaking! Cathy has just begun to experiment with oils. She completed the infamous "Squares" palette knife blending exercise and completed a small, but very strong, oil of a burning candle, just amazing!! Amber and Amy ALSO finished pieces! Amy worked very hard on her acrylic of Ariel (The Little Mermaid) from the Disney ride. Amber completed a beautiful acrylic based on a calendar reference. Everyone else is also doing a fabulous job on their pieces, can't wait to showcase theirs next ...

Welcome to Scott and Donna to Thursday Adult 2-4 ! Scott started a colored pencil drawing based off of a cute calendar photo and Donna did some drawing from life to refresh her muscle memory. Both are very strong beginning drawings!! Linda L has also started another oil painting based off of personal photos of heather fields in France. This time she started off utilized an acrylic underpainting in value.

What you are about to take a few minutes to swipe through represents over TWO YEARS of hard work, faith, trust, grace, talent, learning, and above all: patience. Patience with self and patience while trusting the process.

Linda took a trip to Provence, France and came back with some beautiful personal photographs. She was also gifted pigments sourced from the very cliffs in her photos!! Talk about full circle! I also learned a lot from observing Linda's process. She never got frustrated with herself or the painting, she just looked at it as finding different solutions to different challenges. She became an expert at color blending/matching while mixing her own oil paints, for sure! She did say that she found the process very meditative. Linda displayed grace and patience with herself, as there were different things that came up that made this process take the time that it did: trips to visit friends, a few small health/physical issues here and there, the holidays, the weather, etc.... plus she had a very specific idea of what she wanted and she never lost sight of that vision. I am so incredibly proud of her and the end result reflects what anyone can do if you put your mind to it and if you trust the process! I hope you have a few moments to look through the birth process of this beautiful painting.
