An unusual ending to another fun night with the Garden Party Band! Here’s our tornado!

Preliminary survey results show a brief tornado touched down south of Troy, MO last night. Most of the damage was done to trees, but a few structures experienced damage as well. This tornado had a path length of 2.73 miles and was on the ground for 5 minutes.

Doe Campers, hope your hunter isn’t indulging in this soup tonight.

TAG SOUP — SERVES ONE HUMBLE HUNTER

Ingredients:
• 1 unpunched deer tag (fresh from the pocket where it sat all season)
• 3 cups of tears of “I swear he was right behind that doe”
• 1 dash of “If it weren’t for the wind shift…”
• 2 heaping tablespoons of trail camera excuses
• Optional garnish: a buddy who shot a 160 and won’t stop talking about it

Instructions:
1. Bring your disappointment to a slow boil.
2. Gently fold in the tag while muttering “next year is gonna be my year.”
3. Reduce heat as your spouse asks how much money you spent on gear “to not get a deer.”
4. Let simmer until the off-season.
5. Serve cold… because it always is.

Pairs great with: sitting in the dark garage staring at your bow.

Thank you line dancers for your great support last night. Our small club (6 of us) have been given hope that there can be interest for dance and music in Warren county.
We know it wasn’t easy to get here. I-70 with all of the construction and the back roads riddled with deer made for some pretty dicey driving on the way home.
We know that a $15 cover is unusual in the St Louis area, but as a rural non-profit without a liquor license our means of income are small. We try to pay our entertainers a fair wage and this is the first time we haven’t had to dig into our our pockets to cover any shortages shortfall. With future strong, regular attendance we will definitely lower the cover. But we do know now that we can fill our propane tank this winter!

Many thanks to all of the dancers and spectators who chose to spend their evening at Schuetzenground Dance Hall’s final event of the year! The food, music, and dancing was over the top and let’s not forget our vendors with their creative and delicious products!
Additional thanks to Sindie Warren, our dance instructor, DJ Tony and his tunes. There was something for everyone at all levels of dance.
Your attendance at our event gives our small club hope that there truly is a future for music and dance in Warren county!
