The new Spider-Noir series is on Prime Video, and Season 1 gives us 8 episodes of Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, a private investigator in 1930s New York who gets pulled back into his old life as the city’s only superhero, The Spider. The cold part is the show is giving viewers two ways to watch it: Authentic Black & White or True-Hue Full Color. That is what makes this interesting. Black and white feels like the real noir experience. Shadows, mystery, detective energy, old school crime story vibes. Color gives it more of that comic book feel where the suits, lighting, and world pop more. So this is not really about whether Spider-Noir is valid. Real ones been knew that. The question is how are you watching it? Black and white for the full noir mood, or color for the comic book sauce?

Rain showed up, but Southfield Super Saturday still went on 🎮🌧️ We’re out here right now with Southfield Parks & Recreation for their Super Saturday Game Day, a youth event built around video games, board games, yard games, prizes, and giving kids something fun and safe to enjoy. This one is not open to the public, you had to register, but we still wanted to show love and let y’all see what Round 1 gets to be part of when cities, schools, and organizations bring us in. Music is one of those things that really elevates me. Its a love language in a way. I love listening to music, but I also love breaking it down. The lyrics, the cadence, the beat, the intentionality behind the song, who it was made for, how it was written, all of that matters to me. I’m all over the place with it too. Country, punk rock, 80s and 90s R&B, hip hop, techno, EDM, whatever the list doesn't end. I just love discovering new sounds and finding the story inside the music. These two album covers we recreated with me and Terrance are inspired by two of my favorite albums from two of the greatest duos to ever touch a mic. It is hard for me to rank my favorites, but these are definitely up there. Summer is on the way, and just know the music will be banging through Round 1 all season. Happy Saturday!

Today was all about community, kids, and good energy 🎮💙 Had a great time pulling up with and Brilliant Detroit for Community Fun Day at the Chandler Park Hub. The kids got to play, laugh, run around, get face paint, grab books, eat, and just enjoy a positive Saturday in the neighborhood. These the kind of days that remind you why showing up matters.

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! GAME 6! A VERY IMPORTANT ONE TOO!

and the 5 Star Organization are taking over Chandelier Detroit for a FREE Pistons Playoff Watch Party, and we are streaming the game LIVE in the building. This is not a “check the score on your phone” type of night. We need everybody in there locked in, loud, and ready to watch these Pistons force a Game 7. The drinks will be flowing, the game will be on, the vibes will be right...come watch playoff basketball the way it’s supposed to be watched.

Being part of the first round of The Hustle with the is still one of the biggest honors in Round 1 Gaming Lab’s journey.

This was not just a shoutout. This was not just a feature. This was our story being documented, preserved, and connected to the history of Detroit.
The Hustle was created to celebrate the entrepreneurs who keep Detroit alive in real ways. The business owners who may not always get the big spotlight, but whose work feeds the culture, serves the neighborhoods, creates opportunities, and shows what Detroit hustle really looks like.

The first round honored Detroit entrepreneurs through museum exhibits, oral history interviews, professional portraits, public programming, and a permanent place in the Detroit Historical Society’s collection. To be included in something like that was a true “look how far we came” moment for us.

Now it’s time for Round 2.

The Detroit Historical Society is looking for 30 more Detroit entrepreneurs to highlight. Black and POC business owners. Creatives. Builders. Community people. The folks doing real work, building something with purpose, and helping tell the story of this city right now.

We already nominated a few people we know deserve this opportunity. Now we want y’all to do the same.

Happy Earth Day from Round 1 Gaming Lab 🌍🎮

Today is a good reminder that this planet is the only one we got, so taking care of it matters. Earth Day is about awareness, responsibility, and doing our part, even in small ways, to protect the world around us for the next generation.

And if you grew up on games like we did, then you know this message is not new. For a lot of us, Final Fantasy VII was one of the first games that really made saving the planet feel deep. Cloud and the crew were literally fighting to stop the planet from being drained dry. So honestly, they was on some Earth Day timing before we even knew what to call it.

So today, show the Earth some love. Step outside. Appreciate nature. Clean something up. Teach the kids something. And if Cloud could link with Captain Planet, they would probably have a lot to talk about 😂

Rainy Saturday outside, but we still in Macomb making it a good one 🎮🌧️

This our only stop of the day, and the kids have been great from the jump. Just gaming, kicking it, laughing, and having a good time. Honestly, there is no better way to spend a rainy Saturday than letting the trailer do what it does.

Good energy, smooth day, and a party of kids just enjoying themselves. We will take that every time.

Happy 18th Iotaversary to Terrance Crowell 🤎💛 ( ) one of the owners here at Round 1!

Today he celebrates 18 years of brotherhood, service, leadership, and real commitment in Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. Terrance chartered the Eta Eta Chapter ( ) at Wayne State University, and he continues that legacy today as a proud part of Alpha Gamma Omega Alumni Chapter ( )

For the people who know us through Round 1, this is part of who we are outside the games too. Good people. Solid men. Community minded. The kind of people who believe in pouring into others, leading by example, and helping build up brothers and men in every part of life.

Terrance has continued to rise, serve, and lead with purpose. From leadership to community service, he has stood on business the right way for years Iota. A truly great brother, and many brothers cannot wait to keep watching his growth through eternity.
