Your planner isn’t a robot — they’re a human being. 🤍
I’ve been reflecting a lot after receiving a deeply hurtful email from a client. Not because feedback isn’t welcome — it absolutely is — but because it came after months of hard work, constant communication, and not a single sign of dissatisfaction.
What most people don’t see is everything that happens behind the scenes:
✨ Countless meetings, sometimes two hours long
✨ Driving to Boston for a showroom appointment because it was more convenient for them, even though the wedding was in Newport
✨ Showing up fully while nine months pregnant
✨ Frequent check-ins with nothing but gratitude and reassurance coming back
And then… all the things they never saw:
1. Fixing the venue’s mistakes quietly and efficiently
2. Keeping catering on schedule despite their lack of staffing and poor service
3. Leaving the venue mid-event to pick up plates because the venue failed to correct the rental order — even after we notified them multiple times
4. Paying over $500 out of pocket to feed their vendors because the venue failed to provide proper meals
5. Advocating for them every single second to ensure they got exactly what they wanted
6. Protecting the experience so they never had to feel the chaos happening behind the curtain
We didn’t complain.
We didn’t push blame.
We simply did the job — and then some — because we cared.
That’s what planners do.
So receiving an email that tore apart our work after all of this… it took us for a loop. It hurt more than I expected.
Here’s the truth:
Wedding planners are partners, not robots.
We carry the emotional, logistical, and physical labor so our clients don’t have to.
And kindness? Communication? Appreciation?
It truly matters.
If you’re working with a planner or any vendor:
✨ Share concerns early
✨ Speak with respect
✨ Trust that we’re on your team
We want your day to be magical — more than you know.
Just remember… we’re human, too. 🤍
