As students return for the 2026–2027 school year, the Warner Robins Police Department is reminding motorists to slow down and use extra caution in school zones. Speed safety cameras located near Warner Robins High School, Lake Joy Elementary School, Lake Joy Primary School, Northside High School, and Huntington Middle School are currently operating in warning mode.
During the warning period, motorists who exceed the posted school zone speed limit may receive a warning notice rather than a citation. This period is intended to help drivers become familiar with the school zone enforcement program and encourage compliance with posted speed limits.
Beginning Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the school zone speed cameras will be fully operational, and citations will be issued to motorists who violate the posted school zone speed limits during active school zone hours.
The Warner Robins Police Department urges all residents and commuters to obey posted speed limits, remain alert, and exercise caution when traveling through school zones. The implementation of school zone speed cameras reflects the City's ongoing commitment to protecting students, school staff, and pedestrians while enhancing roadway safety throughout the community.
