Fun & Not Traditional is the middle name of Bow Tying the Knot - wedding officiants !

(Hmm. Bow Tying the "Fun &" Knot "Traditional". I know it doesn't work as a middle name, use your imagination.)

"Fun" definition: not boring, entertaining, surprising

Our biggest flex is that we are operating as a TEAM. Most officiants run a "one man show", but we saw straight from the start how much smarter it is to work together than against each other! There's no competition when we all succeed by pooling our time, experience, resources, knowledge and availability! This keeps our calendar HOT, our faces smiling, and our energy electric!

We put meaning into so many things. Dates, words, numbers.

I achieved a personal milestone today. In the calendar year 2025, I have officiated 100 marriage services, including elopements, weddings, and vow renewals.

Number 100 for the year happened today, so close to the end of the year. I did not want to end the year on number 99, it just wouldn't be right! Just one more, one more!

And it happened. Congratulations to Alexsas and Syden on their wedding day, having a beautiful ceremony in their home, surrounded by love and warmth from their family members.

For my company, Bow Tying the Knot, the 100th event happened earlier this year, when I had the honor of officiating my daughter's marriage.

These milestones are personal, dear to my heart and probably no one else's, yet I invite you to celebrate with me! I invite you to celebrate the achievements and victories of others, recognizing that every little thing adds up into something larger.

Real talk: I hate Thumbtack.

If you're searching for a vendor of some kind, Thumbtack is a great resource for you! BUUUUT it's terrible for the vendors.

Yes yes, I know we all have choices when using sites/platforms/apps for business, so let's help others make better, informed decisions, like DON'T USE THUMBTACK.

Simple scenario: wedding officiant receives lead on Tt & pays a "lead fee" of about $40+/-. The same lead gets sent to 4 other officiants, who also pay $40+/-. Only ONE officiant is going to get the job, so 4 officiants just lost $40, and some of them didn't even have a chance at getting the job.

The rules of the Thumbtack game suck. I'm not playing it anymore.

And I have played!!! I played so much I felt like I was winning!! How is that possible, Ginger? Great question!! Remember that story about the blind squirrel finding a nut? It's kinda like that. I paid for so many leads that I was able to land enough of them to keep the money rolling in --- and right back out to Thumbtack.

Kudos to the geniuses who created Thumbtack, not that my thanks and appreciation are needed as they sit beachfront, cocktail in hand, complaining about the heat of the sun in December from some lovely tropical location.

Is it unprofessional of me to suggest BOYCOTTING Thumbtack? So be it.

Join me. Spread the word. Wedding clients should be encouraged to check social media, Zola, Wedding Wire, and The Knot - ALL of these are more cost effective for the businesses who are focused on growth, not just spinning round and round into the toilet bowl drain.
