The Flores Family set off with a dream to open up a food truck to provide nutritious lunches & school supplies to students in need. While attending The Culinary Institute of America, Austin fell in love with the diverse meals a food truck could offer and the ability to bring great food to people of all ages, backgrounds, and locations! He saw how food uniquely brought people together and how a sin
gle meal could change a life. With each event and customer interaction, their goal was to Feed a Soul, Fill a Heart. The Floreses furthered their hospitality careers by working at Dorado Beach, a Ritz Carlton Reserve and Westin Maui. Their travels expanded their food & beverage knowledge and their palates, but they always hoped to return back to New York to fulfill their original dream. In 2018, Austin & Danielle returned to the Hudson Valley, eager to make their vision a reality. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, an unexpected opportunity arose to be able to cook and distribute meals for first responders, hospital staff, students & families in need, and those in homeless shelters. The community came together to donate supplies, ingredients, and essentials for the food trucks to prepare and distribute to others in the community. What was considered one of the toughest years in the industry is actually when their dream was fulfilled. In 2021 they opened their first restaurant, Flores Tapas Bar, and continue to expand their dream of giving back to the community. The best is yet to come!
