Pretty wild to see 2 fawn and a yearly all feeding from the same doe.

Just like in the spring when the turkey were all hatching out, the predators are definitely really active and moving.

Ive currently got a fairly large adult mountain lion cruising around in the daylight hours which I usually dont see.

Its a trip getting the girls to lay down new comb in the jars.

I failed last year, so I added a short wax starter strip which gets waxed into place along with a few dribbles down the sides of the jar.

These should make pretty unique gifts once they get packed full of honey.

Kitty cat vs aluminum mirror at the "cat toy tree"

Like I said, its like clockwork about this time every year. The predators usually start getting more active as the deer and turkey start dropping their young.

I was really doubtful id ever actually get one to stop and check out the mirror. Its facing east with a dark tree-lined backdrop. I was really worried id need to move it S or SW to catch more moonlight, but I guess not.

This is the same choke point where ive filmed a pregnant deer passing by, then a cat dragging it to its den for its cubs a few minutes later (which I was ultimately able to find and film). Ive also had them play with the cattoy there which I think I need to rebuild.

The maples tend to be one of those oddball trees that they love. You catch the blossoms right and they're pretty good in salads too.
