My grandad and grandma picked cotton in south texas … my dad Roy Head Was born in a house with dirt floors in three rivers Texas in 1941 .. he would tell me about his momma picking cotton and dragging him behind her on a sack, He learned to dance and sing in those fields before he could walk and talk. In the late 50’s and early 60 he had a band and toured all over the chitlin circuit and wrote a song “TREAT HER RIGHT” that has become a staple of rockabilly and Texas groove. It was number two in the world - only the Beatles “Yesterday” was higher at #1 in 1965… not a bad song either..

He toured all through the 60,70’s then I was born in 1978. My story is long and ongoing. Texas and the music run in my blood and I have the spirit and soul to back up the songs that I have lived and wrote.

Join along - stream “Guinevere” right now and feel the soul and the music that has been delivered through conviction and promise. A song I wrote and produced based on the final back porch converstion with a friend that has gone home. His final story lives forever both tragic and beautiful..

Follow along and help me tell my story. Become a part of it .❤️ I’m not hiding. I’m not perfect. I am human. I also believe the lord has granted me sobriety and saved my life for a purpose that I do not understand. I trust in his will.

I am the perfect sinner who has been called to witness. And my work is storytelling as a singer/ songwriter. I cannot wait for you to hear “The Road To Redemption” release date of Sept. ✌️- Sundance head

Let me tell you how impossible they are making things for us independent artists.

If I write a song, I can post it anywhere I want. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, it does not matter. I can promote that song. I can release a music video.

But as soon as I release that song through a distributor to be put on places like Spotify, I can no longer use my own song for anything over a minute. I can’t even play my own song acoustic on social media without it being blocked or flagged.

So I spend the time and money to write, produce, and release a song where I will get pennies on the dollar ROI, and then I can’t even use my own damn song.

The big cats signed to labels can do this because the labels make it possible. But independent artists are screwed.

Before anyone tells me what I need to do, I have already verified this with a few labels. There is nothing we can do about it. And with AI getting stronger, they find out about the song immediately.

This is all done under the guise of keeping people from using other people’s songs, but it’s really just another way for labels to control what gets out to the people.

2017 to 2023 was the heyday for independent artists. A lot of them blew up. But now that is trending down because of all this gatekeeping.

I know most of you don’t give a s**t. And some of you are probably rolling your eyes about me complaining. I’m actually not complaining.

But I am thinking about taking all of my songs off every streaming service so I can use social media the way I want.

It is just yet another way for big business to screw over the little guy.

You may not care about this, but this same kind of thing is hitting every industry out there right now.

It is going to get very, very ugly.
