Ruritan is a civic organization whose objectives include creating a greater understanding between rural and urban people on the problems of each as well as on their mutual problems and working with those agencies which serve the community and contribute directly to its progress. It is similar to the service organizations of the cities but designed to meet the needs of rural people and rural communities.

The Mt. Pleasant Ruritan Club proudly presented several scholarships to deserving students from the Walkersville area during our May meeting. An additional scholarship was awarded in memory of the late Jake Sines.

If you are looking for a hearty breakfast, stop by the Mt. Pleasant Ruritan Club, located at 8101 Crum Road in Walkersville, on Saturday, May 2nd, hosted by the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

Pancake breakfast will be served from 7:30 AM until 11:00 AM.
