💛One reason I love watching the sunflowers grow so much is they follow the pattern of the sun from east to west each day. During the night the flowers re-set to the east to wait for the rising sun. Once they bloom they stay facing west. It is really cool to watch!

🤓The scientific name for this plant phenomenon is heliotropism.

☀️This name is derived the Greek words, helio for sun, and tropism for movement of a living organism toward or away from an external stimuli. Sunflowers are the most famous heliotropisms 🌻

🌱Do you see what I see

The sunflowers were planted 8 days ago (thank you Nick) and right on schedule they are sprouting.

Based off last year they were 60days from plant to bloom, I expect the best bloom viewing to be July 4-14, but may adjust that as it gets closer, weather depending.

Stay tuned for opportunities to visit the sunflowers.
