Tomorrow marks one year since sweet Noelle made her journey to Heaven. I only had the privilege of knowing her for a short time, but my God, what an impact she had on my life. Her strength, her spirit, and her beautiful personality are something I will carry with me forever.Even in the hardest moments, Noelle radiated a light that drew people to her. She had a way of making others smile, bringing perspective to what truly matters, and reminding everyone around her what courage and hope really look like. Her impact reaches far beyond the time she spent here, and her memory continues to inspire so many every single day.

In the midst of this unfathomable tragedy, one beautiful glimmer of light was the friendship I gained with someone I truly needed in my life. Noelle, thank you for bringing your mom into my world. That gift alone is something I will forever cherish.

My promise to Noelle is to appreciate life fully and always try to see things through a positive perspective. I will push myself when I think I can’t do something. I will be silly when I probably shouldn’t be. I will laugh louder, love harder, and hold onto hope no matter what life brings.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. For many of us, it will be a day filled with laughter, hugs, and precious time with our children and families. But for others, the day carries a very different weight.

It’s important that we hold space for those who may not experience the Mother’s Day they deserve — those missing their mothers, those longing to become mothers, and especially those carrying the unimaginable grief of losing a child.

While many celebrate, others are simply trying to make it through the day. May we meet them with compassion, love, patience, and strength. A kind word, a thoughtful message, or simply remembering their pain can mean more than we realize.

Mother’s Day can be joyful and heartbreaking at the same time. Both truths deserve to be acknowledged.
