The festival is a free 3-day event developed to promote and perpetuate appreciation and interest in the Hawaiian Steel Guitar. The festival is one of the largest gatherings of amateur and professional Hawaiian steel guitar players and is produced by HIMELE, the Hawaii Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences in collaboration with Ke Kula Mele Hawaii School of Hawaiian Music. The fes

tival includes a series of performances, presentations, musical and cultural workshops, jam sessions and public and private school visitations that are focused on the Hawaiian Steel Guitar and its importance in the Hawaiian music genre. Through 2019, the event was publicized as the MAUI HAWAIIAN STEEL GUITAR FESTIVAL and was produced for Arts Education and Children Group.
