This is a bittersweet post to share.
After so much thought, Norma’s Florals is officially closing its retail flower shop chapter. What began as a leap of faith grew into something far bigger than I ever imagined — and it was only possible because of the Waco community.
Waco gave me the rare gift of space: space to try, to learn, to stretch, and to evolve. In this community, I was able to jump into something new, be fully supported while doing it, and be met with grace when it was time to pivot. That is not something I take lightly.
Through this experience, I learned something important about myself. While I loved serving our customers day to day, my heart has always been pulled toward large-scale installs, events, and immersive floral experiences. That realization made it clear that it was time to realign and move forward in a way that honors how I work best and where I thrive creatively.
This chapter shaped my career, my confidence, and my future. It became the stepping stone that allowed me to grow into the work I now feel called to pursue — and for that, I will always be grateful.
A few important notes as we transition:
• Cha Community is NOT closing and will continue operating as usual
• Our retail lease is being subleased — if you’re a small business looking for a space near Baylor, please reach out
• This account will continue to evolve as I move forward into freelance floral work, events, and larger-scale installations
Lastly, none of this would have been possible without my husband and co-owner, Frankie. While I’m the dreamer and the leaper, he has been the steady backbone behind the scenes — from cart drop-offs to long days, late nights, and everything in between. I’m endlessly grateful for him and for every person who supported us along the way.
Honey- we get to add this to the “stuff we did” pile 🫶❤️
Thank you, Waco — truly. This isn’t an ending, it’s a transition, and I’m excited to see what comes next 🤍
