I love this post! As someone who loves weddings and helping two people have a beautiful start, I truly hope the best for each marriage - that they can stay true to their vows and choose to love for a lifetime! Marriage is not always easy, but it is worth it and a beautiful refining process when both people allow Christ to mold and grow them!

Weddings are amazing celebrations of love and devotion in front of God and those you love most. Many couples, however, don't anticipate what comes after the wedding...after the honeymoon...and after the first year they're married.

Marriage is as wonderful as it is challenging, and the further into your marriage you get, the more you realize... it will cost you. But that's good. Here's why.

Love...true love...costs us more than we can ever realize before the moment payment is due. But that's why the covenant is in place: to hold you together through tough times so your love for each other can mature into something truly God-honoring.

What exactly does love cost? It costs pride, time, effort, selfishness, and so much more. But that's the beauty of real love: it's a choice you can make even when you feel like doing the opposite. You can always choose to love.

Why must we cling so hard to our covenant to each other? Because when the feelings of love are absent, we're most at risk of making mistakes that will devastate ourselves and each other. We must choose to love through the difficult times so we can experience the promise of love for a lifetime.

The temptation is to just "try harder" when things get tough. While an effort is needed, it's in vain if it's not motivated and fueled by the love of Christ and understanding his covenant with you...his promise.

Remember that Christ has promised to never leave you, to always love you, to always forgive you, and to always pursue you. That revelation alone will fill you with an identity that is eternal and joy that overwhelms.

Remember the unending goodness of Christ as you learn exactly what "covenant" means. In doing so, your marriage will become a constant avenue for God's glory and your joy.

I love the meaningful traditions of weddings, but I really love the original ideas of making it special and unique!
With this wedding, we created a circular seating arrangement at the Water Gardens - It has been one of my most favorite things!

Can we talk wedding colors for a minute?
This has been on my mind since the new year began - what will be the trending colors for 2026?

While some have confirmed various colors and styles, I am here to tell brides - it really doesn't matter what is trending!

I truly feel like it is your wedding and you should pick all the details that you want. When you look back at your wedding 10 years from now, you don't want to regret going with trends...you are less likely to regret going with your favorites!

So, you have permission - be a trend setter by choosing the colors you want, not just following the crowd...(unless the trending colors are your favorite 😉).

And if you're struggling on figuring out how to incorporate your favorite colors, call me and we can talk about it!
