Captain David Wright has been operating out of Rudee Inlet since 1978. Dave's third Carolina sport fisherman boat and is custom built for large groups (up to 15 people) for special events in Virginia Beach. The High Hopes offers all types of saltwater fishing, including sight-seeing, whale-watching, family fishing trips, conferences and corporate events. The High Hopes is also perfect for special

October 24: After several re schedules, wind , wind, wind ,,,,,, finally we got Jonathan Arias & his guys out . Little rolly , but ended up w/ fish for dinner . Thank you guys for your patience w/ our weather 🤦‍♂️ , enjoy your fish ! Hoping for big Bluefin Tuna next .

Oct 4: First day out after storms passed by . Derek Moon & company did work on these pretty dolphin & later a fee tiles after trolling here & there . Beautiful fall day . Looking forward to battling swordfish if we can get out again soon !

Aug 18: Michael & Dawn were able to move their Wednesday trip to today . Calm seas offshore & see what they got ! Only weighed 3 Blueline Tilefish , 19 , 19 , & 20 lbs 😳 !!!! Nice catch of dolphin to complement their day . Enjoy your fish guys !

Aug 15: pm trip ,, after catching Spanish & Blues , another charter boat found a school of Red Drum . Andrew was really quick in hooking one Red , then was able to sight cast this keeper Cobia before the school spooked !! Good job guys , enjoy your fish !!

July 29: Mr Bill McCloud organized today’s event . They caught a nice limit of Blueline Tilefish,,, & we were greeted by a very curious gentle giant manta ray , who hung around us a long time ! Enjoy your fish guys !!

The High Hopes is equipped with twin diesel engines for safety , a leather mezzanene seating area outside the cabin , a new soft deck in fishing area , & bluetooth stereo in fishing area , along with built in drinkbox , two A/C units and heaters, a galley, satellite TV, and all custom fishing tackle.
