I know first-hand what a labor of love a p.l.s. business is; and I also know first-hand the happiness and relief our events can provide for moms in our own communities. I’m so glad to share with you this small business opportunity.

Being a peace. love. swap. Ind. LSO is simple; we provide organized events for local families to come swap out their outgrown and no-longer-needed maternity, infant, children, and teen clothing, shoes, furniture, toys, books and accessories for new-to-you items that are needed. We secure a venue, gather volunteers, provide the racks, tables, tags and signage – and many Ind. LSO’s hold vendor events for the moms to enjoy while the children play and while the volunteers are setting up. Our seasonal swaps have a reputation of being enjoyable quality events and something the community really looks forward to.

Let’s be realistic … peace. love. swap. is not a “get-rich-quick” scheme. There is no pyramid, no payments up and down a line, no managers or supervisors; we are a group of like-minded women working together to accomplish the same goals. I understand personally that this business is basically a “volunteer with perks” position! It is my goal that this business be lucrative enough for it to be self-supportive (no revolving debt for you) and provide you with access to the swappable items you need for your own household for free. Imagine removing your clothing and toy budgets for the children in your home – would that help your household income a bit? It certainly helps mine!

Our business costs are low to reflect this understanding. The $100 commitment fee starts your business and provides you with the documents you need to get moving. The $120 annual fee covers 1 year of website hosting as well as constant contact with our entire group of Ind. LSO’s to bounce ideas off of, ask advice of, and receive encouragement from. Your annual fee is due within 3 months of your initial commitment; giving you time to hold an event and raise the money if you wish; starting your business debt-free! After your annual fee is paid, all income made from registration and vendor fees at your events are YOURS. peace. love. swap. does not collect any fees based on your event income. You have a protected territory and a network of moms just like you that do not compete with one another for business, but instead work together in supporting each other’s local events. After a year you may choose to renew your licensee agreement and territory and add additional territories if you wish.

If you have a heart for your community moms, if you have a talent for event planning, if you enjoy being an advocate for children in need, if you like organizing fundraisers and giving to local charities – a peace. love. swap. business may be right up your alley!

Hey Swappers! I have to announce that I am no longer physically able to handle the swaps any longer. It has been difficult to maintain dates for our swaps and I cannot do the lifting.

So I wanted to ask if there is anyone in our swapping community that is interested in taking the swaps over? Please private message me if you are interested in knowing the details of what the swaps entail and how peace.love.swap. works.

We are at California Kids Sports Center
832 Malone Road San Jose, CA. 95125 The date is Sunday, I repeat, Sunday November 8th. Drop off will be from 10:30 to 11:15, and the swap will be from 11:30 to 12:00.
Same rules apply, but here they are as a refresher. Please, please, please follow these rules. These rules make the swaps more successful and efficient. First off, no clothes that are ripped or stained. Take the time to look at what you are bringing to the swap. There isn't time to go over each item of clothing so come prepared with usable clothing. Toys and other items must not be broken or dirty. They will be handed back to you. Clothes must be on hangers with the exception of 0-18 month bottoms. If you do not have enough hangers I will have some the day of the swap. This means that you as the swappers will need to come early enough to hang your clothes before submitting them to the swap so watch the time and allow for this please. All of these rules help to keep our swap within a short time frame which minimizes the impact on the gym and my day. Typically from start to finish this is an eight hour day for me. It is a labor of love and I enjoy it, but anything we can all do to make the swaps work is helpful for the whole process. We also need to take out our own recycle so if you bring your stuff in many bags please empty them to hand to volunteers and take them back. I bring plenty of boxes to cart away the donations at the end. If there is less recycle this cuts down on the clean up time and gets us out of the gym faster. Everything that is left over is donated to families in need, so please be mindful of what is brought to the swap. I am not of fan of donating junk, that is not why I do this, so please be considerate of what is brought. So with the rules out of the way, here is ticket information: $5 in advance per person or $7 at the door. To pay for an advance ticket go to PayPal, Send money and cope and paste THIS EMAIL: [email protected]
If you have been to a recent swap you may have purchased a reusable bag. Please bring this to our swap. We are using the same size bag to keep our swap fair for everyone. The bag is $2 at the swap or you can take a paper bag from me. No personal bags allowed on the swap floor. Also the gym provides open gym time for $7 per child. Please let me know in advance if your child will be there to play. An adult needs to be present for them to be in the gym, but no fee for the adult to be with the child. So start gathering what you don't need and please spread the word. We are swappin' in San Jose!
Kind Regards,
Tammy Terry

Hey swappers! This article is great! Please share!

It’s common knowledge now that rear facing in the car is the safest way for toddlers to ride. As a child passenger safety technician, I’ve heard all of the reasons that parents choose to forward face too early, and I’d like to provide some answers to those questions here. Hopefully…

Hey Swappers! Have you bought your ticket yet? Our swap is in two weeks! Hope to see you there!
In an email I sent a clue to an upcycling tutorial I will show on swap day on how to make something out of what I know we all already have- The first clue was "Fishing anyone?"
Here is the second clue to keep you guessing- "I only have eyes for you!"
I wanted to bring a little fun to our swaps. I promise the tutorial will be short and informative and it's not selling anything- just a cute project you may want to do for/with your kiddos out of things you may have at home to repurpose and reuse! My little take on saving our environment
