It’s with excitement to announce a partnership with Boulanger Initiative and Strathmore. AK will vend at this year’s WoCo Fest on Saturday April 25, 2026 from 3:30 to 7:30 PM in The Mansion at Strathmore.

Strathmore is a historic and prestigious cultural arts institution with two locations - a music center and venue in Maryland. It holds “an experience and a community – for discovery and a canvas for expression where it “spotlights world class talent and serves a launch pad for local and international artists”. The Strathmore hosts an incredible series of performance and gallery events for the public. Their three principles are approachable and ambitious, fostering a creative community and commitment to inclusion and equity.

Boulanger Initiative is a musical organization that “fosters inclusivity and representation to expand and enrich the collective understanding of what music is, has been, and can be”. Their purpose is to advocate for equal rights for all women and gender marginalized composers. It’s utmost to “promote music composed by women through performance, education, research, consulting, and commissions”.

The name was chosen to honor the two Boulanger sisters who were composers and activists in the music industry during the 20th century classical world. Boulanger Initiative is a resident artist at the Kennedy Center.

It’s such a honor to receive an opportunity to support the artistic community. The headliners are Claire Chase, Maeve Gilchrist and the Argus Quartet. Tickets are available on their website. Please feel free to visit and enjoy the performances. All are welcome.

Happy February !

It’s with excitement to announce our return as a vendor at Beltway Card’s event. This marks our second collaboration and visit to Virginia.

The Beltway Card Show is a local trade card event curator that hosts a “thriving card collecting community by elevating the card scene - amplify passion, support local vendors and help new collectors”. Their vision is to foster a great experience and build community for card lovers alike.

The group hosts monthly events with several vendors throughout the DMV area. It’s with pleasure to continue such partnership.

Beltway is open for all groups whether it’s families and friends. Admission is $5 but free for under 12. There’s 30 + dealer tables, raffles and giveaways. It will held on Saturday February 21 from 10 AM - 4 PM at the Vienna Banquet Hall.

We hope to see all today !

An invitation to vend at Bol Coop’s second store opening was received. The Bol Coop held a grand ceremony on Saturday November 15, 2025. It was a pleasure to meet the Bol Team and community.

Bol Coop is a independent worker owned cafe that “encourages to find global solidarities through a shared commitment to open dialogue, never-ending curiosity, and social change - based on the ideals of global racial justice and economic democracy”. The stores curated an enriched list of recommended books of various topics.

We’d like to express our gratitude to Arjun and the Bol Coop Team for the opportunity. Bol Coop’s is located at 716 Monroe Street NE along the Brookland Arts Walk. It’s highly encouraged to visit ! A cafe will soon open within the space.

Indonesia commemorates its 80th year Independence today. The Embassy of Indonesia DC hosts an annual celebration for its citizens at the Ambassador’s Residence. It’s an honor to serve our community on this national holiday.

Happy August.

The AK Team returned as a continuing partner and collaborator with DC Scores. This event was hosted alongside District Soccer and Go Play DC on June 21, 2025.

DC Scores is a nonprofit - philanthropic initiative based in Washington, DC that provides “confidence and skills to succeed on the playing field, classroom, and in life”. Their mission is to ensure that all children and students despite of their background and situation experience “joys of childhood — empower to find academic success and grow into an emotionally and physically healthy teen and adult”.

We would like to express our gratitude to Katie, DC Scores Team, District Soccer, Go Play DC and Sponsors for the opportunity.
