🎃💐 A Little Halloween Treat for Some SPOOKTACULAR Leaders! 👻🧡

October is National Principals Month, and our Treasure Island Florals students wanted to show a little extra appreciation to the individuals who do so much for our campus each and every day!

Our floral students created these Halloween-themed arrangements as a small token of appreciation for our amazing administrative team! 🕸️🌸

🖤 Principal: Mr. Dart

🧡 Assistant Principals: Mrs. Mathews, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. LaPray, and Mr. Peveto

From the early mornings to the late evenings, the countless decisions, the challenges, and everything in between, your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed!

We know that keeping a school running smoothly is no easy task, but we are thankful for the leadership, encouragement, and support you provide to our students and staff!

Thank you for all that you do to make Vidor High School a great place to learn, grow, and succeed! 🖤💛

Happy National Principals Month! We hope these arrangements brought a little Halloween spirit and a smile to your day! 🎃💐

🖤💛 HOMECOMING WEEK IN PIRATE COUNTRY! 🏴‍☠️✨

Homecoming is one of our favorite times of the year, and you know we couldn’t let the week go by without showing off a little black and gold! 💛

These two custom mums were a special project I had the opportunity to create for two girls who are near and dear to my heart! From the oversized blooms to the layers of ribbons and all the personalized details, these mums were definitely a labor of love!

While Treasure Island Florals is known for our fresh floral arrangements, there’s so much more to floral design than just flowers! We love getting creative and bringing unique ideas to life!

✨ Keep Treasure Island Florals in mind for your 2027 Homecoming mum orders! Whether you want something simple and traditional or BIG, BOLD, and full of Pirate Pride, we’d love to help make your Homecoming a little more special!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Homecoming week! 🏴‍☠️

GO PIRATES! 🖤💛

🏴‍☠️🖤💛 WE’VE GOT SPIRIT, YES WE DO! 💛🖤🏴‍☠️

Homecoming Week is right around the corner, and my Practicum of Floral Design students have been busy spreading a little PIRATE PRIDE throughout the halls of Vidor High School! 🏴‍☠️

I challenged each of my students to select a teacher of their choice and create a MEGA MUM to hang on their classroom door in honor of next week’s Homecoming festivities!

From brainstorming ideas and selecting materials to putting together all those ribbons, bows, and finishing touches, these students took their creativity to a whole new level! Each mum was designed with a special teacher in mind, making this project even more meaningful. 🖤💛

One of my favorite things about teaching Floral Design is watching students use the skills they’ve learned to bring joy to others. This project was about more than just making mums. It was about showing appreciation for our teachers, giving back to our school, and spreading a little extra school spirit!

I’m so proud of the hard work and creativity these students poured into their designs, and I hope our teachers enjoy their new classroom decorations!

Thank you Mrs. Kibodeaux, Mrs. Hernandez, and Mrs. Ricks for all that you do for our students!

There’s nothing quite like Homecoming in Pirate Country! 🏴‍☠️✨

🌸🪩 A BLAST FROM THE PAST… WITH A FLORAL TWIST! 💐📼

Treasure Island Florals had the opportunity to create 20 centerpiece arrangements for the VHS Class of 2027 Project Graduation Trivia Night! 🎉

With this year’s DECADES theme, we decided to get a little creative! We took leftover blooms, gave some of them a fresh pop of color with floral paint, and brought them back to life in a fun and vibrant way! 🌈

From cassette tapes and CDs to Rubik’s Cubes, funky sunglasses, trolls, and colorful lights, we incorporated different elements that brought a little nostalgia from decades past into each arrangement! 📀🕺

One of the best lessons we can teach our floral design students is that creativity doesn’t always require brand-new materials! Sometimes, it’s about taking what you already have, thinking outside the box, and turning it into something completely different!

We love finding ways to reduce waste, stretch our resources, and give our students opportunities to create something unique while supporting our community! 🖤💛

Thank you to the VHS Class of 2027 Project Graduation for allowing Treasure Island Florals to be a small part of such a fun event!

20 arrangements. A whole lot of creativity. And a trip through the decades! 🪩🌸

💐 Sometimes, flowers don’t need a special occasion.

Sometimes they’re simply a way to say “I love you,” “I appreciate you,” or “I’m thinking about you.” 💛

This beautiful arrangement from Treasure Island Florals is a reminder that some of the most meaningful flowers are the ones given just because. A simple gesture can brighten someone’s day and remind them just how loved and appreciated they truly are.

Because you never need a reason to make someone feel special. 🌸💙🌼

We’re still on Cloud 9 from yesterday’s Floral Design Competition at the Texas Rice Festival!

This year’s theme was “Candyland,” and our students brought the creativity, color, and talent! 🍭🍬🌺

Students had the opportunity to compete in two different contests:

🏠 Pre-Build Competition — Students designed and constructed their arrangements ahead of time and brought their completed pieces to the competition.

⏱️ Build Off Competition — Students were given a scenario and had to create their designs on-site, putting their floral knowledge, creativity, time management, and design skills to the test!

🏆 PRE-BUILD RESULTS
🥈 Camden Tappe — RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION
🌸 Amber Toman — 8th Place
🌸 Bailey Andrews — Competitor

🏆 BUILD OFF RESULTS
🌸 McKenzie Grass — 5th Place
🌸 Camden Tappe — 6th Place
🌸 Ally Barlow — 7th Place

🌸 Shelbie Anderson — Competitor

We could not be more proud of these students for representing Vidor FFA and Treasure Island Florals so well! Competitions like this give our students the opportunity to take everything they learn in the classroom and put it into action while thinking on their feet and letting their creativity shine.

What an honor it was to work alongside some of the best floral design educators and industry professionals from across Texas and beyond. Being part of this was an incredible experience and a great reminder of the creativity, teamwork, and passion that make this industry so special.

Together, we brought our vision to life and created a design experience that showcased the talent and dedication of everyone involved.

The Cultivated Blooms Retreat provided valuable ideas, new techniques, and fresh inspiration that I’m excited to bring back to my classroom this year. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from so many talented individuals and look forward to putting these experiences to work with my students.
