I hear all the time, from other Wedding DJs, that "you need a ton more online content, videos, etc."

Here's the honest truth, from someone who has been doing this 20+ years: Content is crap. The only thing that truly matters is how you make your guests feel.

You can be the hippest Instagrammer, the person with the most views, followers, whatever. It won't make you any better of an entertainer/human being. Weddings are all about guest interactions, and making EVERYONE feel like they're on top of the 🌎.

My newest friend Janice is truly a young soul. She was such an intricate part of one of my latest weddings. We talked about life, grabbed a quick pic, and even snuck in a few dances. Weddings aren't all that difficult, once you realize the entire point of them. To celebrate life. To recognize each and every one that has made the day possible for the couple. People who have made a lasting impact in others lives.

I try to incorporate this philosophy into all of my weddings. Will this post ever go viral? No. And, frankly, I don't care. I do this for people like Janice. Those who make what I do so mentally rewarding.

You can't fake authenticity in this industry. The real ones can spot it a mile away. Until next time Janice. It was my absolute pleasure! 🫶

Reminder: The DJ who charges $500 and the DJ who charges $3,500 are not solving the same problem.

One DJ simply shows up whenever, and plays music.

The other DJ helps keep the client stress-free, keeps the planning process seamless, manages the flow of the event, and creates an experience they’ll still be talking about 10 years later.

The client paying $500 and the client paying $3,500 should be expecting two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT levels of service.

Yet, to many people, it looks like the exact same job.

The difference isn’t the speakers, the playlist, or the microphone.

The difference is the experience, expertise, preparation, professionalism, and peace of mind being delivered.

Velosity Lab did it's Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting yesterday, and invited me to DJ the BIG event!

Velosity is a contract manufacturer in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, specializing in high-precision components for the medical device and defense industries, offering services like 3, 4, and 5-axis machining, injection molding, and advanced assembly. The Brooklyn Park facility, which employs about 240 people, also houses a new innovation lab focused on precision-machined metal parts.

We added dramatic uplighting in the front corridor, and custom gobos/uplighting in the main event space. What a fun event featuring intelligent minds 🧠, high-tech innovation 👨‍💻, and a world-class facility 🌎
