These are the three big things that are super important to me as a wedding planner. You should always be considerate of your guests and ask yourself and if you were at your wedding as a guest, would it be an enjoyable experience? And when you work with a professional wedding planner, they will show you ways that you can watch your budget without cutting corners that will inevitably lead to disaster on the wedding day… Because sometimes when you do that there are problems that just cannot be fixed.

Always ask your florist when they would need to have something by in order to put it in your bouquet. You might get a florist that will want to do it same day but no matter what their answer is it's important to set this up in advance.

I said everything I needed to say in the video so no need for a long caption here… But yes, I am aware that this is going to strike a nerve with all different people depending on your viewpoint of this entire situation.

This isn't rage bait, and I'm not posting anything for clicks… I don't need to do that… The story was sent to me a bazillion times and I never once even saw it on my own. So this was my $2 million because my opinion is definitely worth more than two cents…

Though you might not agree.

And that's ok too.

If you think planning a local wedding is difficult, wait till I tell you how much harder planning a destination one is.

This is a big wedding that we have coming up for this summer and I'm not gonna lie, while I am super excited about how amazing this is going to be, planning a destination wedding is not for the weak. It can be especially challenging when, as a New Jersey based planner, who is used to same-day responses, has to follow up 17 times for any given subject.

Destination weddings are totally different animal and you may not think you need a wedding planner for a local wedding (you do though), but I can promise you this, you absolutely need one for a destination.

Turns out securing the visas was the easiest part.

As a full service wedding planner, I am working with my couples throughout the entire wedding planning process and nothing is more stressful than the wedding guests. It is wild to me how helpless some people become and the amount of stress they put the couple under for absolutely no reason.

Highly recommend being very, very particular and ruthless when making your guest list.

Planning a wedding is a team sport and it's why I almost exclusively do full service planning at this point in my career. For the past 15 years, I have built a book of incredible vendors that are not only insanely talented but know how to work well with other people. That second part is underrated and that's a problem. Because what good is a talented vendor if they absolutely have no idea how to communicate and they are more interested in their own egos than being a team player or even what the couple wants?

So shout out to my vendors who are all amazing at what they do and working together as a team!

Every day on Threads, I see countless women who are planning their wedding talk about how they're going to get into the wedding industry so they too can make millions upon millions of dollars.

My response is that they should probably enter the funeral industry instead because those people are making way more money than anyone in the wedding industry, and they literally are holding you hostage because you are emotionally devastated and have to make quick decisions and drop thousands of dollars in a very, very short amount of time.

I'm not saying that there isn't already anger at the funeral industry for this, I'm just saying that for every complaint about the funeral industry, there are roughly 1,000,000 complaints about the wedding industry and that is society's choice to villainize one over the other.

It's a choice. And it's the wrong one.

Creating a wedding day timeline is a huge process and one that I start months in advance. This is why I love partnering with vendors I have been working with for years because they understand how important it is to get me their information so I can build out this timeline.

A professional wedding planner is going to take everyone's timing needs, the needs of which are dependent on what the client wants, and create a cohesive timeline. I never send more than one draft because people get confused and end up with different timelines. There's one draft and it's final and it's because I work with the venue and the vendors as a team to create the best timeline humanly possible.

So much goes into this document despite how simplistic it may look. it's super easy to miss important details when you're planning your wedding on your own, so hopefully this video brings a few things to your attention… And if you're newly engaged, hopefully it convinces you to invest in a professional wedding planner from the beginning 🤍🤍
