I’ve been a florist for ten years, mostly learning by doing and handling tons of stems on farm. The Artistic side of things is hard and wonderful and can feel like you’re never good enough. But I was the same way about painting in art school…I have no chill. As my three kids age I’m finding more pleasure in designing simply because you care less about what others think as you get older. And thank god for that. Farming makes me really picky about quality stems but I’ve been spoiled by a flower farmer Husband. Wedding season has started and it’s going to be a beautiful year!
In other news red is back and my mother in law has been waiting for 50 years to only grow red flowers…let’s do it. Who’s in?
