Hello, my name is Erin Rhoden, and I am the original person who came up with the idea of Wilbarger Fun Plex back in 2019.
In the beginning, the organizational goal was to find the funds and grants in order to open a community center that would feature skating and bowling, as well as a few other fun activities in one location available to residents of Wilbarger County and surrounding areas.
However, since that time, many on the board has moved, or become ill , or are unable to perform their roles. We had fundraised $2000 in the very beginning.
I, along with another board member have reached out to many community members asking for a new board to take over. However, in the last two years, despite a lot of interest, there has been no movement to continue this organization. Therefore, the original board voted to disband the organization. Per our bylaws, we have donated the funds to another organization. The recipient voted by the board is the Brenda Beebe Little Theatre. We are glad to support a wonderful organization that will continue to impact youth in Vernon.
This donation was received this week by the Brenda Beebe Little Theatre board.
